I Hate Pop and other Relevant Ramblings
I hate pop. I hate the stars, the composers, the writers but most of the entire concept itself. Pop is manufactured for the not so discerning ear and not quite intellectual mind and every time I hear even one beat I shudder. Shudder, for I fear each stray note will somehow infest in my mind and slowly eat me away.
But enough of that, pop music sucks as does everyone who listens to it so if you like pop you won't really like my site. Check back in a few days, I'm just completing a photos page with all your hated popstars doing their thing, Photo pages and are complete check them out. This site is a member of WebRing. u=10062866"

dissection before it happens in their classes. Cut It Out! Hearing a lot about violencein schools? You can do something to help Cut out dissection!

Cut It Out!
What happens to the animals before the schools place their orders for bodies? PETA did undercover investigations at biological supply companies, which sell animal bodies and parts, and found nightmarish acts of animal cruelty, including the drowning of rabbits and cats embalmed while they were still alive. Check it out for yourself in this video
You can also read more about dissection in PETA’s " Guide to Animals and the Dissection Industry ."
Check out what David Gallagher has to say about dissection on PETA TV If you’re in grades kindergarten through 12 and attend public school in the following states, just say "no": Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, New York, Illinois, Rhode Island, California, and Louisiana. These states have dissection choice laws in place. Private schools, colleges, and universities are not covered by those laws, but you can still get an alternative. You’ve just got to ask for it the right way (see number 2 below).

The Geometry Junkyard. dissection. Henry Baker s hypertext version of HAKMEM includesa dissection of square and hexagon, depicted below. Cube dissection.
http://www.ics.uci.edu/~eppstein/junkyard/dissect.html
Dissection This page involves problems of cutting a region (such as a polygon into the plane) into pieces (possibly putting them together to form a different polygon). Related topics include tiling (in which the whole plane is cut into pieces) and triangulation (in which a region is cut into triangles or higher-dimensional simplices).
  • On angles whose squared trigonometric functions are rational , J. Conway, C. Radin, and L. Sadun. This somewhat technical paper on the theory of Dehn invariants (used to determine whether there exists a dissection from one polyhedron to another) makes the theory more computationally effective. It contains the fascinating observation that there should exist a dissection that combines pieces from a dodecahedron, icosahedron, and icosidodecahedron to form a single large cube. How many pieces are needed?
  • ARTiP : an automated rectangular tiling prover. This system uses a constraint-propagation algorithm, similar to Waltz' famous line-labeling technique, to automatically find dissections of planar regions into rectangles.
  • Henry Baker's hypertext version of HAKMEM includes a dissection of square and hexagon , depicted below.

http://www.ics.uci.edu/~eppstein/junkyard/distile/
Dissection Tiling
It has long been known that for any two polygons of equal area (or groups of polygons adding to the same area) there is a collection of smaller polygonal pieces that can be arranged to form either of the two polygons; this partition into smaller pieces is known as a dissection . For instance, a square may be partitioned into four polygonal pieces, which can be rearranged to form an equilateral triangle of the same area. This idea was used by Hilbert to develop an axiomatic theory of plane area. Dissection has some potential application to random generation of points; it is easy to generate uniformly distributed points in a square, so by dissecting the square to another shape one can generate points in that shape. Dissection is also closely related to the Banach-Tarski paradox (which concerns itself with similar set-theoretic partitions). But problems of dissection also have more recreational aspects, concerned with minimizing the number of pieces in dissections of specific shapes. I am interested here in a different but closely related problem: partitioning a polygon or group of polygons into a dissection such that the pieces can be rearranged to tile the plane. Each piece must be used with a density proportional to its area (otherwise one could just take a square out of the middle of one polygon and not use the other pieces). Any polygon can be dissected and rearranged to form a unit-width rectangle, so any group of polygons has a

Cockroach dissection. We begin with Take 2 filming of a cockroach dissection. Theunderside of the wings are then pinned to the dissection plate.
http://everest.ento.vt.edu/~carroll/insect_video_dissection.html
Cockroach Dissection We begin with Take 2 filming of a cockroach dissection. Dr. Richard Fell performs the procedure. The cockroach is chilled on ice to slow its activity. The underside of the wings are then pinned to the dissection plate. The legs are removed and additional pins are inserted at the base of the wings. Once the cockroach is securely fastened to the plate, the side or ventral cuts along the abdomen are made to remove the exoskeleton. The fat body is teased apart with forceps and removed to expose the internal organs more clearly. The most noticeable system of organs we see once the fat body is removed is the digestive system. The major structures include the crop, gastric caeca, midgut, Malpighian tubules and hindgut. The crop, an enlargement of the foregut, serves as temporary storage for undigested food. Digestion of complex sugars begins in the foregut. Gastric caeca, the elongated pouches at the beginning of the midgut, contain bacteria which aid in digestion. The midgut is the primary area for digestion and absorption. Contents from the midgut and Malpighian tubules empty into the hindgut, where final resorption of water, salts, and nutrients from the feces and urine takes place before excretion.
