This project is the result of a request by the National Plant Pathology Board (NPPB) for information on new and emerging plant diseases and the surveillance of these diseases throughout the world. The purpose of the project is to provide agricultural producers with a comprehensive listing of new, emerging and re-emerging plant diseases. Plant Pathology Departments and Plant Disease Clinics throughout the United States collaborated to compile six categories of plant diseases and to make the lists available on the World Wide Web. The Web pages will be updated and maintained by the Department of Plant Pathology and the Plant Disease and Insect Clinic at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina. You are invited and encouraged to submit disease information and/or corrections pertaining to your area.
