    Weather
The weather during the summer can be unreliable but the Danish summer often is quite charming with its long light evenings and early quiet mornings. The part of the summer season from end of June to the middle of August is usually pretty nice. The winter in Denmark is long, dark, grey and wet , occasionally with snow and minus degrees, but always - perhaps with a few exceptions - with a lack of every kind of charm. The spring is full of promises not always fullfilled and the automn is - like the winter - wet and grey. The Weather in Copenhagen right now This is a report for Koebenhavn / Kastrup, Denmark . Denmark is a small, flat country between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea with no mountains and almost completely surrounded by water. It consists of the peninsula of Jutland and an archipelago of 406 islands. The largest islands are Zealand, Funen, Lolland and Bornholm. Many of the other islands are very small with only a few or no inhabitants. The individual parts of Denmark are totally or partly surrounded by water, and many of them are connected by bridges. The capital, which is also the major city of the country, is Copenhagen on the island of Zealand. The major cities in Jutland are Aarhus, Aalborg and Esbjerg, while Odense is the major city on Funen.
    The Danish realm
When speaking of Denmark, most people think of Jutland and the Danish islands. However, Greenland and the Faroe Islands in the Atlantic Ocean are also part of the Danish realm, although they enjoy extensive home rule. Denmark is a member of the EU*, whereas Greenland and the Faroe Islands have decided against EU membership.
