EC PHARMACY UPDATE
Work is currently being done by the pharmacy community to insert language into the law to allow for more flexible collaborative practice agreements, and efforts around EC may occur in 2004. Planned Parenthood has also surveyed pharmacists to determine if they stocked EC and is providing EC training to teachers and social workers. Training has not yet expanded to include pharmacists or other health care practitioners. The State of Delaware makes EC available in family planning clinics. Back to top

State board to weigh teacher standards

Test run planned for fall By RANDALL CHASE
    Associated Press
Teacher accountability standards proposed by the Department of Education have been posted in the Delaware Register of Regulations and could be adopted as soon as June, after the state Board of Education considers them later this month. Despite the misgivings of some teachers and school administrators, education officials hope to begin pilot evaluation programs in September for teachers, specialists and administrators in four school districts. The regulations would be effective statewide on July 1, 2005. "It's been the last piece of the puzzle," said Robin Taylor, associate education secretary for assessment and accountability.
