Overview
Delaware recently conducted an analysis on integrating international studies into standards for social studies and world language study as well as teacher education (through its K-20 partnership). The state has also created two professional development clusters on Asia and on technology and international studies that provide higher pay for teachers who successfully complete the course. The anticipated result being the creation of a cadre of teachers ready to support the expansion of international content statewide. The Delaware Department of Education and the Delaware International Trade Council have also developed a statewide task force to examine the impact of globalization on the state.
