Many of the dances in these lists are not at any strict or official tempo. It is a good idea to know the standard tempo of a dance before picking music off these lists. You can find recommended tempo information from the the USBDA rulebook (see section 3.5 - Music Tempi), Dance Me Tonight Tempo page George Lindholm's Tempo page , the International Dance Sport Federation . Note that samba, polka and paso doble tempi are given in measures per minute with beats per measure while most of the other dances have 4 beats per measure (except waltzes, which are 3 beats per measure).
