To develop plant cultivars with improved biomass production, forage quality, seedling vigor and establishment, tolerance to grazing, tolerance to saline and alkaline conditions, and other abiotic and biotic stresses. To develop cooperative interdisciplinary research designed to enhance breeding methodology and efficiency. Collect new germplasm and evaluate its potential to enhance the breeding program for traits of interest. Publications Peel, M.D., K.H. Asay, D.A. Johnson, and B.L. Waldron. In Review.
