These web pages were created to provide the layperson with an easy understanding of what forensic science entails. With a large number of homepages on the net for forensic organizations, no one seems to have taken the time to explain the basics or to make them easily understood. Below, you will find brief explanations of some of the main disciplines within Forensic Science. Click on the icon to see a more in-depth explanation of that topic. The Forensic Icon Bar at the top of each page is an image map, linking directly to any of the other subject pages and to this index page. What is Forensic Science? Forensic Science is any aspect of science as it relates to the law. Typically, it includes the disciplines listed below, but just about any area of science could be called into question in a court of law. Firearms and Toolmark Identification. Firearms examination involves the identifying characteristics between firearm and projectile, projectile and target. Typically, this includes matching bullets to the gun that fired them. Toolmark identification involves the identifying characteristics between tools, such as a pry bar, and the object on which it is used, such as a door frame. Also included in the category are explosives and imprint evidence. Forensic Psychiatry and Profiling.

For Ourselves and Posterity
A Principled Parliament and Reliable Courts
Our practical and imaginative strategy for obtaining the full benefits of democracy and law is based upon bringing prominent people and grass roots organisations together outside of party politics. Our priority must be to emphasise that which unites us.
An organisation in which everyone agrees on everything is a cult. A society in which disagreement is paramount is chaotic. At the updating of this site in January 2003, there are intense pressures in many parts of the world for a dangerous comformity. At the same time there are great tensions caused by differences.
Trusting in that which is best in humankind, we are forming a consensus for decency and fairness. In addressing the task of learning how better decisions can be made by ministers and judges, we expect to go beyond the toleration of other people and their views; we expect to value them.
In doing so, we will be backing a social contract in which each person's right to their own perception of the world is partnered by their moral obligation to make that view as informed, honest and unselfish as is humanly possible.

http://www.wcu.edu/aps/cj/
Online Program NEWSFLASH!!
Welcome to the Department of Criminal Justice
The struggle between good and evil is as old as time. It strikes at the nature of the human heart and defines the character of a society. That's why Western Carolina University's degree in criminal justice means law enforcement and much more. It calls for an understanding of a wide range of disciplines: philosophy, psychology, sociology, and political science, to name a few. but specifically, criminal justice involves the law, criminal behavior, and the arena in which the two ultimately meet: the United States justice system. Supporting the drama are the Constitution and our democratic society. A lot to ask of just one major? We don't think so. We want you to be highly qualified for a wide range of positions after graduation.
