Are Your Crime Prevention Programs Working?
Controlling crime is one of the most urgent challenges facing many public housing agencies (PHAs). To help evaluate their efforts, HUD has developed two practical new management tools: A Guide to Evaluating Crime Control in Public Housing and How to Conduct Victimization Surveys: A Workbook . An effective evaluation can answer questions such as: Are current programs leading to improvements in resident safety? What works best to reduce violence and crime in public housing communities? A Guide to Evaluating Crime Control in Public Housing takes PHA managers and their local partners step-by-step through critical issues in the evaluation process from preparing for an evaluation and collecting information to reporting findings. Preparing for an evaluation. Managers should initiate evaluations during the earliest stages of program implementation, according to the guide, so that any needed program modifications can be made as soon as possible. PHAs with staff know-how but perhaps limited evaluation funds may put together the evaluation team from inhouse resources, while PHAs with greater financial resources might prefer to select a team of researchers from a local university or private firm. Collecting information.

CRIME PREVENTION IN THE CITY OF CAMDENTON
Crime Prevention Programs
A: Introduction to Crime Prevention.
Crime Prevention is everybody's job.
It is up to all of us to try and prevent crime. Each and everyone of us is responsible for reporting and preventing crime in our community. We all have to pay for crime committed in and around our community. The Police department is designed to prevent, investigate and act on all crimes in our community, but must have the help and cooperation from the community to do such a job.
The community is the eyes and the ears for the police department.
The community should support their local Law Enforcement Agencies by means of reporting what they hear and see when it comes to a crime. They are the extra eyes and ears in the community to help solve and prevent crime from taking over.
If it was not for the community, crime could not be controlled. A single Police Officer is usually responsible for over a Thousand people and a large area in his community. One Police Officer can not serve such a large amount of people and area without the help and support of the community.
B: Understanding the opportunities of crime.
