Take red construction paper and cut up a bunch of little Valentine's Day cards (about the size of gift tags) and write "I Love You", "Be My Valentine" etc. and hide them in places where your sweetie is sure to find them. My honey did this for me one year for Valentines Day. He secretly put little cards (they were store bought not homemade, but hey it's the thought that counts) in lots of different hiding places. I'd open the drawer to get my brush and there would be a note there. I'd open the medicine cabinet and there would be one propped up against my toothpaste. He had put one in my lunchbag, in my shoe (I wore boots to work since it was snowing). I was finding those adorable little notes throughout the house for weeks afterwards. By the way he also bought me a VCR for that particular Valentines Day, however, those little love notes are what I remember to this day (I always get a lump in my throat).

168. Bricks & Brass: Design By Style
An overview of Classical, Georgian, Italianate, Gothic, Aesthetic, Arts and crafts, Eclectic, Queen Anne, Art Nouveau, and Edwardian architecture and design styles.

Design by Style
Getting to Know Gallery Dating Your House Design by Style Introduction Style Timeline Classical Georgian ... Who Lived There
This is a guide to the main design styles of the Victorian and Edwardian periods. The Victorian era matches the reign of Queen Victoria, from 1837 to 1901. The Edwardian period was from 1901 to 1910, the reign of King Edward VII, although in architectural style, it effectively means through to 1918. This section covers Classical, Georgian, Italianate, Gothic, Aesthetic, Arts and Crafts, Eclectic, Queen Anne, Art Nouveau and Edwardian styles. It gives an overview of the influences on architecture and interior design. For the design of particular elements, such as windows, see Design by Element . For an overview of the different styles by room, see the Design by Room section. Note that it is rare in Victorian houses, in particular, to be able to label them as being of a single style. The typical middle or working class home was built by a small builder who would buy a plot of land, build one or two houses and immediately sell them freehold or leasehold to a landlord. This speculative builder built what he liked, was familiar with and could sell easily and profitably. These houses were influenced by contemporary fashions but were no more 'designer houses' than the typical house of today.

169. Laymar Crafts
A collection of woodturning, hints and tips, as well as lists of suppliers, links and books.
http://www.laymar-crafts.co.uk/
Welcome to the LaymarCrafts Web Site The LaymarCrafts Web Site is a Woodturners Site with a difference, arranged in five sections, each covering an area t hat will hopefully enable you to be better informed, enjoy and further your Woodturning. Books
Woodturning Books are prolific, but do they all fulfill their promise? here I give my personnel opinion on those Books within my own Library, s ome of which, f or reasons explained, are gathering dust whilst others are consistently referred too.
Over the 1 4+ years that I have been Turning I have developed a number of Attachments, Fixtures and Jigs for the Lathe and Machinery used in my Woodturning, plus many items and ideas for a better organised Workshop, I try to add a new page to this section each Month so look out for regular additions.
Information
This Section of the Web Site is intended to give a series of pages relating to Technical aspects of various items, not always directly related to Woodturning but of possible use and interest to Woodturners.

T he rich and diversified applied art of Uzbekistan holds a special place for copper chasing - the art of decorating metal items in relief. The continuity of traditions, from century to century, has developed copper-chasing art specifically aesthetic principles and high standard of artistic performance. More often than not, caper-chasing items in metal, which were in great demand, served as a source of disseminating new ideas and new methods of artistic expression, thus enriching local tradition with the best achievements in the art of neighboring countries.
L ocal artisans created embossed work in various metals - gold, silver, copper, bronze
Wood carving:
W ood is one of the noblest materials nature has given to men. Already at the dawn of history men built houses and household utensils of wood. And it was in those old days that the art of wood - carving began to emerge.
A logical question suggests itself, however: how could this type of decorative art appear in Uzbekistan, a country so poor in forest? The reason was precisely the high value and short-age of wood. The attitude to it was always very attentive, which led to its careful artistic processing.

CONGRATULATIONS
Nadine Christian, and Emily Rose Christian, born on Sept. 14, 2003, the first child born on Pitcairn for 17 years! IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT We have been asked by the to make this announcement. Friends of Pitcairn and visitors to the island are asked NOT to send or bring honey, other bee products, or used hive equipment or clothing to Pitcairn. As many of you know, the Pitcairners have begun to expand their beekeeping efforts, and the island hives have recently been declared 100% free of disease. In order to keep the hives pristine, it is very important that the island not be accidentally exposed to products of bees from other areas that could contaminate the Pitcairn bee population. The Pitcairners and the bees thank you very much!

After much prayer, we started Carrie's Crafts. Health concerns secondary to Carrie's Spina Bifida make it impractical for us to work regular 9 to 5 jobs, we opened our own store front and web page. This was God's answer to our "Prayer of Jabez". Now we not only have the supplemental income, but we have been given the opportunity many times to use our business as a ministry to others of God's eternal love for them. We thank God for "enlarging our territory".
