    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: A graduate-level degree from an ALA-accredited program with a minimum of 2 years of academic/research library experience and one year of technology experience relevant to academic/research library automation; experience with bibliographic database structural concepts and the MARC formats for the representation and communication of bibliographic and related information, together with experience in HTML coding; and experience with client and server products and systems, user training, consulting, and/or systems analysis. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Experience with Endeavor Voyager integrated library system; experience with the organization, protocols, and software of library management systems; library and university experience with a broad range of software products, including Windows-based environment, MS Office Professional (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point), and Internet tools (e.g., FTP, web browsers); experience with installation, management and maintenance of Unix-based systems; experience with advanced information management and library standards (for instance, AACR2, XML, XHTML, Z39.50, EDI, SGML, and metadata standards other than MARC); experience with programming and scripting (for example, Visual Basic, PERL); and experience with SQL-based report generation.

    Newsletter Editor/Website Manager - The Connecticut Library Consortium (CLC) invites proposals for the jobs of Newsletter Editor and Website Manager ( www.ctlibrarians.org ). It is estimated that these responsibilities will take about 20 hours per week together or 5 hours per week for the website and 15 hours per week for the newsletter. Bidders may bid on both, or only one of these positions, and should clarify for which position they are applying, as well as explaining how they would interface with another person managing the rest of the job.     231 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106 The Connecticut Newspaper Project was part of the nationwide United States Newspaper Program. CNP shared two goals with all state projects: first, to locate, catalog and inventory all American newspapers held in libraries, historical societies and other repositories in the state, and second, to preserve and increase access to American newspapers by microfilming as many of their state newspapers as possible. The Project was funded primarily by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, with financial and in-kind contributions from the State Library.
