Our areas of research are: DNA based computing In particular, we design and (in cooperation with molecular biologists) conduct laboratory experiments testing the suitability of biomolecules for computing. Also, we develop theoretical models for various aspects of molecular computing; this includes models for recombination and self-assembly. The theory of formal languages In particular such fields are investigated as: grammars; automata and transducers; logical descriptions of languages and transductions; combinatorial structure of formal languages; models for natural computation; attribute grammars.
