He is the guitar chair in the Issaquah jazz Orchestra (IJO) and Pocket Fullof Cool small band. Copyright 2001, Seattle composers Alliance,
http://www.seattlecomposers.org/about/bios/f_clark_grogan.html
F. Clark Grogan
F. Clark Grogan grew up in Clearwater, Florida where his involvement with music began at an early age with his participation in church vocal and bell ensembles. These activities continued into his teens when lessons on the guitar turned his ear to the music of Joe Pass, Tal Farlow, and John Coltrane. It was because of this interest in serious improvisational music, that Mr. Grogan was encouraged to pursue jazz studies at The University of North Texas. As an undergraduate student at the University of North Texas, Mr. Grogan wrote, arranged, and transcribed music for a contemporary jazz quintet specializing in the music of Carla Bley, Don Grolnick, Vital Information, Weather Report, and many other contemporary jazz greats. In addition to his involvement with improvisational music, he was beginning to be exposed to the compositional methods of contemporary classical music. Due to an increasing interest in contemporary classical music, Mr. Grogan began to pursue a degree in Music Theory while continuing his involvement with jazz music. After graduating from the University of North Texas in 1989, Mr. Grogan continued to broaden his musical experiences in Columbus, Ohio. While pursuing a graduate degree in composition at the Ohio State University, Mr. Grogan wrote pieces for clarinet solo, string quartet, jazz tentet, and jazz quintet. He also began experimenting with a variety of methods of sound design.

Album Liner Notes (excerpt): Surprises abound on this recording. Most surprising is a recent discovered song written by Louis Armstrong but never recorded until now. It has been waiting around for over seventy years and we now have available this early creative effort by the greatest of all jazz performers. In the same vien, this session marks the first commercial recording of "Klondyke Blues" by Yellow Nunez. (It was previously recorded by the Louisiana Five in 1919, but the record company chose not to release it.) The Other composers herein represented were all involved in the early history of jazz in New Orleans. They played with and heard all the original legends (for which they also qualified) of this American musical style.

(CBS) Once an international pop star, Curtis Stigers is now back to his first love: jazz.
The singer, songwriter and saxophonist stopped by The Saturday Early Show 's Second Cup Café to perform some singles from his latest album, "You Inspire Me."
As a Boise, Idaho, teenager, Stigers played the clarinet and drums. He then took on the saxophone and singing working with jazz greats such as pianist Gene Harris.
In 1987, Stigers set off for New York City. He began a regular engagement at Wilson's on Manhattan's Upper West Side, that led to a recording contract with Arista Records. His self-titled debut, released in 1991, sold nearly 2 million copies and spawned several pop and soul hit singles, including "I Wonder Why." The singer also scored a major success in 1992 with the Nick Lowe song "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding," included on the soundtrack to "The Bodyguard." He later toured the world with artists including Elton John, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, and Rod Stewart. His second release, 1995's "Time Was," further explored pop and soul.
