The mission of the INCC focuses on educating the public about the history and benefits of the Morinda Citrifolia, or noni plant. The INCC provides an opportunity for doctors, scientists, and consumers to publish their research and personal testimonials, giving veracity to noni's remarkable health claims.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION ENVIRONMENT
June 1 2004, National Archives of Australia The National Scholarly Communication invites leading researchers, policymakers, library, university and government administrators, and IT practitioners to a roundtable on 'Changing Research Practices in the Digital Information and Communication Environment'. The event will build upon the DEST-commission report by Professor John Houghton with Colin Steele and Margaret Henty and is the 18th NSCF roundtable. The aim of the conference is to encourage a coordinated and holistic approach to research knowledge creation and distribution and examine issues such as incentive systems for rewarding research output and information rights. The Internet revolution and various digital open access initiatives have provided the opportunity for many researchers around the world to reexamine scholarly communication practices. An example of this debate is the Berlin Declaration (October 2003), signed by all of Germany's principal scientific and scholarly institutions, which argues that the Internet has fundamentally changed the economic realities of scholarly knowledge and cultural heritage distribution with the availability of worldwide access.

The Sustainable Development Communications Network (SDCN) is a group of leading civil society organizations seeking to accelerate the implementation of sustainable development through broader, integrated information and communications about what we know. The network focuses its efforts on integrating Internet communications into broader communication strategies. Our understanding of communications includes:
  • internal communications necessary for international virtual project teams within civil society organizations (CSOs) to work together on sustainable development research; and external communications necessary for CSOs to communicate their perspectives with government and business decision-makers so as to engage these other sectors in sustainable development solutions.
We hope you find our sustainable development research and learnings about communications helpful in your own work. Sustainable Development Communications Network (SDCN)
