Introduction
The Arizona Graduate Program in Public Health offers a master of public health degree through an inter-university, inter-agency program. The University of Arizona offers nine program concentration areas, Arizona State University has three concentrations, and NAU offers one concentration: health education and health promotion. NAU's health education and health promotion concentration is interdisciplinary and involves faculty members from several departments: anthropology; health, physical education, exercise science, and nutrition; nursing, psychology; and sociology. Our program provides you with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills that are essential for the promotion of health and prevention of disease in underserved, culturally diverse populations. This includes the following competencies:

I ndian and Native American WIC Programs provide much-needed nutrition and health benefits to over 57,000 Native American women, infants and children each month, according to the Food Research and Action Center's (FRAC) new publication, "WIC in Native American Communities: Building a Healthier America." The report reviews 25 years of health and nutrition progress driven by WIC; analyzes previously unpublished government data on the extent of Native American health and hunger; and provides new data profiles of 31 Indian and Native American WIC programs. The Colorado Nutrition Education Plan (NEP) is an outreach function funded by the Food and Nutrition Service of the United States Department of Agriculture through the Colorado Department of Human Services, Food Stamp Program. Washington, D.C., October 28, 2000 As the only medical school within 500 miles, the University of Colorado (CU) School of Medicine has the unique sense of duty to serve all citizens, not only in Denver, but the entire region. Whether caring for the medically indigent, increasing the participation of traditionally underrepresented groups in the health professions, providing patient care to disadvantaged or isolated communities or addressing social needs in a medical context, CU is creating a positive impact on the vast region the school serves. THE SECOND DEGREE BACCALAUREATE NURSING PROGRAM (ACCELERATED PROGRAM) The University of Northern Colorado baccalaureate nursing program prepares students for the rewards and challenges of professional nursing practice as well as providing a foundation for graduate study in nursing. The Second Degree Clinical Nursing Program option is designed to meet the needs of those students who are seeking a BS in nursing as a second bachelor’s degree. Admission to the Second Degree Nursing Program option is competitive. First priority is given to qualified candidates who commit to work at PVH or NCMC-Banner Health upon graduation. PVH and NCMC-Banner Health provide support for the Second Degree option and are the major sites for the clinical practice courses.
