Exceptional students currently at NJIT and those transferring to NJIT are invited to apply to the Honors College. (Both categories are considered transfers)
Candidates are expected to meet the following conditions:
  • Full-time student currently taking no Developmental courses such as Math 098, 103/104; Physics 105/106; or HSS 099/100. Have taken 15 or more credits each semester (one semester of 12-15 credits allowed) Must have a GPA of at least 3.4. Completed any Honors courses taken with a B or better. Semesters and courses remaining
      Must have at least 6 semesters remaining to complete the current degree; and be eligible to take at least 4 Honors courses that fit into the student's curriculum; or Students with at least four semesters remaining to complete the current degree, but who are not able to fit in at least 4 honors courses, will be required to complete the 2-course upper-division honors requirement and carry out an Honors senior research project in their academic area or a closely related one, and submit an acceptable written report to the Associate Dean. Students who are accepted under this project option will work with the Associate Dean and their major department to select an advisor and topic.

REED COLLEGE is in a southeast Portland neighborhood, five miles from the downtown area and 12 miles from Portland International Airport. The campus is easily accessible from downtown locations and major highways. From the airport you can reach Reed by car, bus, taxi, or airporter van. Three parking lots, all with designated spaces for those with disabilities, provide free parking: the north lot on SE Steele Street, the west lot on SE 28th Avenue, and the east lot on SE Woodstock Boulevard. Take Tri-Met MAX light rail or bus from downtown or the airport for $1.25. From the airport taxi-limousine area, take the Redline MAX to the Hollywood Transit Center. Take bus #75 heading south. Get off at 39th Avenue and Woodstock Boulevard. Walk down the hill on Woodstock to campus. Travel time varies; plan on an hour and a half. To find out when the next bus runs, call 503/238-RIDE.
