The Climate and Radiation Branch at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center supports a key NASA mission, namely, to understand and protect our home planet. We seek a better understanding of Earth's climate on all time scales, from daily, seasonal and interannual variability through changes on geologic time scales. Our research focuses on atmospheric measurement, numerical modeling, and climate analysis. We investigate atmospheric radiation, both as a driver for climate change and as a tool for the remote sensing of Earth's atmosphere and surface. The Branch research program seeks to better understand how our planet reached its present state, and how it may respond to future drivers, both natural and anthropogenic. The Global climate Coalition focuses on science and economic impacts of globalwarming or climate change, and actions by governments, corporations, and
http://www.globalclimate.org/
The Global Climate Coalition has been deactivated.  The industry voice on climate change has served its purpose by contributing to a new national approach to global warming.
The Bush administration will soon announce a climate policy that is expected to rely on the development of new technologies to reduce greenhouse emissions, a concept strongly supported by the GCC.
The coalition also opposed Senate ratification of the Kyoto Protocol that would assign such stringent targets for lowering greenhouse gas emissions that economic growth in the U. S. would be severely hampered and energy prices for consumers would skyrocket. The GCC also opposed the treaty because it does not require the largest developing countries to make cuts in their emissions.
At this point, both Congress and the Administration agree that the U.S. should not accept the mandatory cuts in emissions required by the protocol.  NEWS

Depending upon where you live and how your house was built, your home may have any of several different types of climate systems that help you to enjoy your interior spaces year-round. When planning, maintaining, and repairing home climate systems, keep simple physics principles in mind. First, heat seeks a balance. Heat will move from a warm place to a colder place. The greater the temperature difference, the faster it moves, which explains those drafts we feel sitting in front of a cold window. Second, warm air rises. That's why the second floor of a home is usually warmer than the main floor or basement. Insulation
Attic insulation can significantly reduce loss of heat through the roof. Over time, the cost of insulation pays off in heating and air conditioning savings. If your home's attic isn't insulated, consider installing insulation or hiring an insulation contractor to do the job.
