"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them upon your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, and when you lie down and when you get up." Deuteronomy 6: 4-7. These verses are well known to those of us who are involved in Christian Education. They are the words that inspired me to have a strong commitment to Christian Day School. However, sometimes we doubt our decisions when the world presses in on us, asking us why a Christian School, when education can be received for free? Sometimes our children rebel and say we push Christianity too hard on them. It's not easy to stand apart from the mainstream. | |
