    Costumes of Greek Literary Characters
Figure 1. O Trelantonis is set in Greece during the 1910s. The main character is Antonis a very mischevious 10-year-old boy. In this image he appears to be wearing both a sailor suit and school uniform collar. Literature describe often describes boy clothes, especially childrens books set in historical periods. We do not know of a lot of boy characters in Greek literature. Our general impression is that American and British writers have focused on boy characters more than writers from other countries. This may explain the limited number of boy characters in Greek literatute. We do not know of any major boy characters from adult literature, but our knowledge of Greek literature is admitedly limited. The best known boy character is from children's literature, probably Penelope Delta's "Crazy Antonius".
    Crazy Antonius
Perhaps the most well know and beloved character from Greek children's literatute is Trelantonis (Crazy Anthony) by Penelope Delta , first published in 1932. Delta wrote books for children that had historical settings. O Trelantonis is set in Greece during the 1910s. The main character is Antonis a deligtfully mischevious 10-year-old boy. According to the descriptions in the book and the various drawing Antonis is always dressed in a sailor suit with short pants just below the knee. His little brother Alexandros (about 5 years old) still wears dresses. His older cousin Giannis (about 12 year old) wears a sailor suit with long trousers. His other two cousins aged 5-9 years old wear sailor suits with shorts. Here Delta is remembering on her family as their mother commonly dressed the boys in sailor suits, although the sailor suits in the book look a little more modern than those actually wore by the real life Antonis.

updated list of our Indian children's book collection.
What follows is my wife and I's personal collection NA children's books.
This is by no means all the good stuff out there, this is what we have
been able to pay for over the past couple years (good books are usually
expensive) and we have recently tried to find some good stuff from other

wouldn't mind fielding questions about specific books you may have and
my feelings about them. I have three crieria when I look at Multiethnic Children's Lit. 1) Is it a good story? As someone with a BA in ElEd, the most important thing must always be the
