NIST provides a comprehensive set of easy-to-use databases and online systems that help the analytical chemist identify unknown materials and obtain physical, chemical, and spectroscopic data about known substances. The databases marked with an * have been fully evaluated using a variety of techniques. When appropriate, duplicate measurements have been included for completeness. The databases and online systems are updated and expanded on a regular basis. The PC databases have sophisticated software that enables searching which takes only seconds. Highlights The NIST/EPA/NIH Mass Spectral Library is the product of a multiyear, comprehensive evaluation and expansion of the world's more widely used mass spectral reference library. The database now includes 147,198 compounds with spectra. Click here for a list of our distributors of this high-quality, evaluated product.

This new approach to discovery informatics is designed to deal with the challenges emerging in today's computational chemistry drug discovery software from the volume, diversity, and variable quality of data modeling being generated. Through advances in system performance, it is possible data modeling to process whole data collections computational chemistry. Database systems have come to play the central role in drug discovery software data modeling computational chemistry from all the being generated. Before pesticides can be marketed and used in the United States, EPA evaluates them thoroughly to ensure that they will meet federal safety standards to protect human health and the environment. Pesticides that meet the requirements are granted a license or "registration" that permits their distribution, sale, and use according to specific use directions and requirements identified on the label. The process of registering a pesticide is a scientific, legal, and administrative procedure through which EPA examines the ingredients of the pesticide; the particular site or crop on which it is to be used; the amount, frequency, and timing of its use; and the appropriate storage and disposal practices.

Data are available for samples collected in March 1995 and analyzed shortly thereafter. Surface water samples were collected at a single depth from 7 locations and at two depths at 3 locations. Marsh pore-water samples were collected at several depths below the sediment water interface at 4 locations. Surface water samples were collected at each pore-water sampling location. A replicate sample was collected to evaluate onsite-sampling variability. Distilled-water blank samples and standard reference water samples were submitted to the laboratory with the onsite samples and were analyzed concomitantly with them. Reference samples were processed using the same procedures as the onsite samples. The data file consists of 34 variables. Variable names and codes established for sample description and identification are listed in table 1 . Variable names for parameters measured onsite and in the laboratory are listed in table 2
