Many are thinking, "This deal is too good to pass up: I can have my children educated outside of the public school system and have the government still pay the bill!" Charter schools along with educational vouchers appear to be harmless, since parents are only reclaiming their tax money. Is it really that simple? Let's look at charter schoolsespecially virtual charter schoolsand vouchers more closely, examining them from the perspective of freedom rather than asking, "What 'freebies' we can receive from the government?" To accurately understand this issue, we must first define the terms.
