Having just finished grading the map section of my final and recalling the past discussion, I thought that I would share the results: 29 students, 10 items each, for a total of 290 possible successful outcomes Successful answers: 276 10/10: 21 students 9/10 : 6 students 7/10 : 1 student 5/10 : 1 student I was much impressed with my students' diligence: 27 (of 29) students received an 'A' (9/10 or 10/10) on this portion of the exam. Details: I provided each student with a blank map featuring the coastal outline of the Mediterranean and various parts of Europe/Asia/Africa (downloaded from the AWMP) approximately 10 days before the exam. I gave them a list of 10 cities and 10 regions that I then asked them to place on the map (dots for cities, hatched areas for regions) and informed them that from these I would give them a list of 5 and 5 on the day of the exam with which to do the same. This portion of the exam was worth 10 percent of their final grade.
