Austin Transportation
Austin blends the best of city living with country comfort-especially when it comes to getting around. From convenient and affordable public transportation to well-maintained roads and highways, Austin makes it easy to go places.
Air Travel
The Bergstrom Municipal Airport is located midway between downtown Austin and Dell's corporate headquarters in Round Rock, and serves 5 million passengers daily with non-stop flights to over 25 major US cities. Construction is underway for the new Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, slated to open in Spring 1999. In addition, Amtrak and Greyhound both service Austin.
Automobiles
Driving a car is simple in Austin. You're never far from a parking space, even downtown. Two main highways (I-35 and Mo-Pac) run along each side of the city, leading straight to Dell's corporate headquarters in Round Rock. The recent growth of Dell and Austin has created some rush hour slowing-but it's nothing to compare with major metropolitan areas such as Boston, New York, and Los Angeles. Public Transportation Fifty cents will get you a seat on a Capital Metro bus. More than 60 bus routes service a 505 square mile area; this
