Ron Case Scholarship helps wildlife club students reach their goals Ron Case retired in 2000 as a professor of wildlife, but he's still helping students in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's School of Natural Resource Sciences (SNRS). He continues to help them financially through a scholarship he established in the spring of 2002. The Ron Case Scholarship assists students who are members of the UNL Wildlife Club in reaching their academic and career goals, Case said.
"I saw so many students who weren't necessarily leaders when they joined the club, and it really helped them hone their leadership skills," he said. If the scholarship helps more students to become and stay involved in the UNL Wildlife Club, Case said, it will fulfill its purpose.
Case's history of supporting students at UNL goes back to 1972, when he was hired to teach and do research in the poultry department. Out of that department evolved the former Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife, which later became a part of the SNRS.

Garrett College's Natural Resources and Wildlife Technology Program provides education and state-of-the-art technical training in many natural resources management fields. The NRWT Program emphasizes experience in practical settings in the field as well as in the classroom. This makes our graduates especially attractive to employers. The NRWT Program is also unique because several of the specialized NRWT courses offered are taught by professors who are also natural resources managers employed by State Natural Resources Agencies ( Adjunct Faculty Information ). This provides students excellent training opportunities that are based on actual practices in the "real world".

Since then several million people have used these links to find their dream job in natural resources and environmental occupations. You too can be successful. Yes, good jobs are hard to find. Yes, getting hired can be difficult. But 'hard" and 'difficult' aren't the same as impossible (otherwise salmon wouldn't bother swimming upstream). Get started and don't quit until you've reached your goal. If us '50 something' people can do it, you surely can. Site Dynamics Career Categories links are in the top section.
If you don't find a great job among our vacancy announcements, we've provided you with tons of annotated links to posting places all around the 'net. You should always keep in mind that most jobs webs end up with a mix of listings, not just one profession. I've sorted the sites into groups based on the most common types of jobs posted at each web, but you'll want to check related categories to do a thorough job search.

General Information
Fisheries and wildlife students take courses in the natural sciences and in management to help maintain and manipulate our land, water, and animal and plant resources for the best ecological, commercial, recreational, and scientific uses. What the Major is Like Fisheries and wildlife majors study the environmental requirements of fish or wildlife species, populations, and communities. They also study sound practices to manipulate the environment and learn to regulate human activity by controlling animal harvest, pollution, and the recreational use of specific areas. Students also learn principles of conservation as well, focusing on sound efforts to maintain and manipulate natural resources. About 35 to 40 percent of a fisheries and wildlife major's course work consists of general education courses in communications, quantitative sciences (calculus, computer studies, and statistics), social sciences, and humanities. These courses generally are taken during the freshman and sophomore years.
