job hunting Mistakes. Blue House job Career Links Guide to the top sites forjob-seekers and those starting new careers, including where to find
    http://www.lookd.com/job-search/
The Internet has revolutionized the way you search for jobs, and the way employers seek employees. According to the 1999 Electronic Recruiting Index Executive Summary by Internet Business Network, employers and recruiters posted almost 29-million job openings on the Net in 1998. That's no drop in the bucket! The Net has made job searching easier than ever, but it doesn't stop there. With just a few mouse clicks, you'll find tips for choosing the right career, writing winning résumés and cover letters, successfully interviewing, and everything else associated with landing a job. But it's not magic. Although the Net lays it all out in front of you, it doesn't land the job for you. Using the Net takes due diligence and hard work, as does any other method. Preparing Your Résumé
The Net has also changed the way you send your résumé to recruiters and employers. Because you send or paste it electronically, you'll need to rewire your résumé for the Internet. There are some other special considerations for sending your résumé via the Net, too. Searching Job Sites
Once you've prepared your résumé for electronic submission, you're ready to start your job search. The more you do it, the better you'll get. Get your mouse pointer on everything you can, learn, and bookmark your favorite sites. In particular, study the job listings to get a feel for which sites offer the most jobs in your field. For example, if a site lists tons of jobs in engineering, but few to none in technical communications (which typically goes hand-in-hand with engineering), you probably don't want to submit your résumé there if you are a technical writer. But, don't blow off a site without browsing it first. You may want to bookmark some of its resources.

Job hunting is much easier with job search engines. Thousands of opportunities are listed online, and you can search them by job category, job type, location, and even salary. You can post your resume at many job sites for prospective employers to view or to attach to online job applications. Job tips, resume writing advice, and networking opportunities also are offered from most job search pages. Major search engines, such as Yahoo! and AltaVista, have their own job search sites, as well as links to hundreds of job-related pages. We all know job hunting is one of the most tedious activities ever invented, but, like cleaning the toilet, it must be done! It can get tedious after a couple of weeks though, so save yourself the suffering and make sure you're doing it right. It's not rocket science but here are a few pointers.
If you're still at university you have access to a wide range of information not easily obtainable elsewhere, so keep your eyes open. Posters should inform you about career fairs and other events and take a look at the student magazines - employers use student newspapers and magazines, such as RealWorld, to advertise job opportunities.
Your university careers office will have loads of information and contacts. You will find free job directories in there with information on graduate recruiters, including background company information, details of the type of work offered, locations, academic requirements and application details.
    Employment Exhibitions
Visiting graduate recruitment fairs are a great way for you to discuss job opportunities, training and career prospects with graduate recruiters in a relaxed yet constructive environment:
