    USERS'S GUIDE Career Information Library
The Career Information Library is a "user friendly" place, arranged by stations. Once you know where these stations are located and what resources each station contains, it is very easy to obtain valuable information about the world of work, as well as information to help you in deciding on a major or career.
The Library is arranged according to five stations. Below is a brief description of each station.
Station 1: Computer Programs All of the programs listed below are interactive, user friendly, computer-based guidance systems which provide assistance with career and educational planning.
FOCUS - Allows the student to analyze where they are in the career planning process; to assess interests, competencies and desired personal development experiences; to search and analyze occupations; and, to prioritize career plans and self-improvement needs. SIGI PLUS - Provides self-assessment of work-related values, interests, and abilities from which possible occupations are selected. Information is provided on numerous occupations including work descriptions, required skills and education, possibilities for advancement, income, and employment outlooks. SIGI PLUS helps the student analyze how suitable an occupation may be and suggests ways to implement career goals. Career Finder - Teaches students about certain occupations and how their work preferences and interests relate to them. The student will be able to analyze those occupations which best "fit" their requirements and how their preferences realistically effect occupational choice.
