CD reissue Virgin [CDOVD484], 1997 This is a really strange one. It's an Ursula Le Guin short story about astronauts on an alien planet, set to 80s proggy synth music by David Bedford. Strawberry Switchblade, backed by Barnet Schools Choir, do the voices for the alien funeral procession. In an interview in 1989 for Airborne magazine, Bedford was asked about Rose and Jill's involvement. DW - Why did you use Strawberry Switchblade on your LP Rigel 9?

odds ends The chairman of the advisory board is none other than Canadianbusinessman Maurice Strong, who headed the UN Earth Summit in 1992.

NAACP Plans Future Boycotts Now that the St. Andrew’s Cross has come down from atop the capitol in South Carolina, the NAACP, while not letting up in South Carolina, has set its sights on other Southern states. Specifically, the states of Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, that have incorporated Confederate symbols in their state flags, are next in line for boycotts and political pressure. We encourage chapters in these states to gear up for a heated struggle, and to take to heart the lessons taught to the people of South Carolina by their elected Republican leaders and Chambers of Commerce. You might want to visit the SC League of the South website: www.palmetto.org. Let’s get out and put pressure on the politicos and also enlist the support of small businessmen. Let us hope and pray that the ‘law of unintended consequences’ attends the NAACP boycott in other states besides South Carolina. An e-mail correspondent commented on the fact that there is a flip side to the ‘offensive symbol’ argument which the NAACP uses to justify its actions. If the flag offends so many blacks that the government shouldn't display it, isn’t it also true that Lincoln’s image on the five dollar bill offends many Southerners, ‘representing the murders of 624,000 on the North American continent’? Not Enough Work to Go Around ‘If those stimulants to exertion which arise from the wants of the body, were removed from the mass of mankind, we have much reason to think that they would be sunk to the level of brutes from a deficiency of excitements, than that they would be raised to the level of philosophers by the possession of leisure.’

. And see what the current activities are. I was surfing around a while back and came across a Katia message board, from that last night I came across a beautiful site devoted to both Katia as a singles skater and to Katia and Sergei as pairs skaters. The link to the site if you're interested is right here . And if you're interested in the message board the link for that is here I got an e-mail today that mentioned these Bourne and Kraatz fan buttons. And since I seem to be aquiring quite the collection here I figured I'd better take one so that I could display it here with the rest of them! :) This comes from the Bourne and Kraatz Online webpage. Why not go take a look? I have just joined The Legendary Kurt Klub. It's an online fan club for Kurt Browning. If you are interested in joining or finding out more information then take a look at The Legendary Kurt Klub Site Yet another fan button. This one is for one of the mens skaters in Canada. If you are interested in finding out more about Jayson then check out The Jayson Rulz page Alright, I was surfing today and I came across a page that had the cutest thing on it...it's a cyber pet...not like those annoying dinosaurs, birds, dogs...whatever that beep at you every 2 minutes wanting to be fed...a cute little fluff. Various, A Very Special Christmas Live
An all-star concert recorded in Washington DC, one of a series of benefits for the Special Olympics. Since most of the obvious Yuletide standards had turned up on earlier Very Special albums, the track list leans heavily on Fifties and Sixties rockers ("Rockin' Round The Christmas Tree," sung by Mary J. Blige with a casual authority that blows the rest of the vocalists away). But there's a fair amount of variety: Vanessa Williams delivers a respectable nightclub jazz take on "What Child Is This?"; Run-DMC serves up their "Christmas In Hollis" (originally written for a previous benefit album).

To those who wonder what are the speed limits on Toronto's roads , they vary. The expressways never go above 100 km/h, and the arterials generally content themselves with 60 km/h. There may be a 70 km/h road there or two, but no country highway speeds of 80 km/h. Not that this stops people. In addition, the Canadian Army Overseas used a wide variety of miscellaneous British and American hard- and soft-skin vehicles. The categories below display history, specifications and photographs of many of these vehicles. We try to capture the essence of this era through cataloging restored examples wherever possible. This will also include examples of the restoration process. Obviously but happily, this will be an unending job, so please check back regularly as new examples are added and new categories activated.
