Canadian Military History is a "journal-in-a-magazine-format" published by the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies since 1992. Presently in its 12th volume, CMH continues to fulfill its original mandate, this being to explore all aspects of Canada's military history, from the earliest days through to the twenty-first century. Particular emphasis is given to the First and Second World Wars, but CMH also carries articles and features on the Seven Years' War, the War of 1812, the Northwest Rebellion, the South African War, the Korean War, United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, as well as more recent events such as the Oka standoff of 1990 and the Persian Gulf War. The articles contained in the pages of CMH are written by professional historians and are well illustrated with photographs and maps. As well, interesting narratives, anecdotes, official reports, veteran accounts, regular columns and book reviews are included in each issue. A notable addition to CMH is a regular section contributed by the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. In this section readers will find special articles concerning museum exhibitions, recent acquisitions, upcoming events, and the museum's extensive collection of Canadian war art.

So did the First World War Belgian battlefield of Ypres, the site of the first poison gas attack on the Western Front; the ghosts of the thousands of Canadian dead infused the visitors with depression, says Paul. To help them plan their trip, the Kennys met with former Laurier chancellor and Royal Bank CEO

June 5, 2004 Does anyone really care about the 60th Anniversary of D-Day? I know I don't. So what if tomorrow is the 60th Anniversary of the day Allied soldiers invaded Western Europe. I mean, it makes no difference if its 60 years to the day, or today for example, 60 years less-a-day. If you want my opinion on the whole matter, the only reason why there has been such a big outcry in the media about tomorrow, is because we here in the West are too damn busy in our own lives to remember the forgotten dead, and then we realize it, feel bad, and decide to commemorate those remembered dead when it suits are busy schedule... On a Sunday, 60 years after. Coincidently, notice how tomorrow is a Sunday, and in North America most people have the day off? Did you observe the huge attention that the media is giving this 60
