In April of 2003 the bookstore closed its doors and became strictly an online bookseller. Our books can be purchased via our ABE internet listings or, if you are in the Stockton area, we are available by appointment. We will also continue to exhibit at rare book shows. Our Mission: One of our corporate competitors says that their mission is to “operate the best specialty retail business in America, regardless of the product we sell.” Our mission is to sell BOOKS because of what they are, not “regardless” of what they are. Books are our primary vehicle for conveying information, for questioning common belief, for creating the future, and for escaping current drudgeries. We are in the book business to improve literacy in America, to encourage independent thinking, to promote freedom of speech, and improve quality of life for ourselves and our customers. We believe it's important for someone to sell the books that aren't carried in grocery stores and chain stores. Small press and alternative books find their homes with us. Subversive ideas are welcome here. We firmly believe that an educated citizenry is the cornerstone of democracy, and will do our part to keep everyone reading and thinking.

Searching for your Hispanic Ancestors, join our club and find out how with our help!
Our Hispanic Genealogical Club was formed to help foster Knowledge, Training, Help and Pride in the Search of Our Ancestors.
We offer Data Bases on families of Northern Mexico, South Texas, California, and New Mexico.
Monthly business meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at the Loma Linda Restaurant at 2111 Telephone Road in Houston at 6:30 PM. Various projects for the coming month are discussed, we have a show and tell session, and a speaker usually has a message on Genealogy for the society. We offer help to new members searching for their ancestors but the biggest advantage is the networking effort within our group and the various Hispanic genealogical groups in Texas, California, Northern Mexico and now with the internet members from around the world. We started in 1983 with about 20 members and now with the advent of the internet we have grown to around 300 members world wide. There are members from as far away as Homer, Alaska to the north; San Juan, Puerto Rico to the east; San Francisco, California to the west;and Mexico City, DF, Mexico to the south.
Funds raised though conventions, memberships, and book sales go to purchase Hispanic Genealogy books, data bases and are donated to the Clayton Library for Genealogical Research, here in Houston, Texas.

General instructions on getting started with your new web hosting package:
Place your HTML pages into the /html directory. Place your CGIs into the /cgi-bin directory. You can place and run any CGI under /html as well, but it should end with .cgi or .pl. To make a subdomain sub.yourdomain.com, just create subdirectories /sub and /sub/html, and place files related to your subdomain into /sub/html. You can create /sub/cgi-bin and use it as CGI directory. The subdirectory /logs (read-only) contains your raw access log. It refreshes hourly, and rotates daily with maximum history one month. The subdirectory /stats (read-only) contains your web statistics based on the above log. These stats are being re-generated at least once a day. The file /.passwd is used for Control Panel authentication and should not be modified nor used for any other purposes.
Setting up email:
1. Login to control panel. (you can use the link on top of this page)
