The Reformation Online proudly presents John Cabot (Giovanni Caboto), the real Discoverer of the New World!! To the corrupt Old World he gave a New World!! Map of Cabotia published in 1814

In 1814, a GREAT Briton named John Purdy published a huge 4 part map of Canada and the U.S. with the correct name of the New World. Thanks to the followers of Columbus, the name of Florentine fraud Amerigo Vespucci is still retained on New World maps. Proud to be a Cabotian!! "A GOOD NAME is rather to be chosen than great riches "
(Proverbs 22:1). The Continent of Cabotia was formed during the year of the Great Flood of Noah . Billions of gallons of water were drained from the drowned land surface of the pre-Flood world and the water formed the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The great Flood occured exactly 1656 year after the creation of the world in The corrupt pre-Flood world was destroyed by water. By the time of the New World discovery in 1494, the old world was completely corrupt once again!!

Until his death, Columbus believed he had reached the Indies Although he had made four voyages for Spain , he never found the gold and spices that he had hoped would make him rich. Columbus died a very disappointed man.
John Cabot
was an Italian sea captain who led a voyage of discovery for
England . Cabot had studied Columbus' voyages. He made a similar trip paid
for by England Like Columbus in , he sailed west across the Atlantic Ocean . Cabot kept a more westerly course and landed on Newfoundland
When John Cabot returned to England, he told everyone he had landed in
Cathay At the time, Europeans called China , Cathay. The English were very pleased with his news and made Cabot a hero. That is when they gave him the English name, John Cabot. His Italian name was Giovanni Caboto Amerigo Vespucci was a sea captain and navigator who sailed for Spain . In he sailed to a place south of where Columbus had landed. In

SPAIN IN THE NEW WORLD TO 1600
Bristol Mariners seem to have visited Canada in the 1480s, and Christopher Columbus may have learned of, and been inspired by, their voyages. In 1492, William Ayers, an Irishman undoubtedly familiar with English activities, sailed with Columbus on the Santa Maria. In 1497 and 1498 John Cabot, like Columbus a Genoese expatriate, explored eastern Canada under the English flag. By 1502 Englishmen were trading in Newfoundland and parts south, and organizing syndicates, some involving Azorean Portuguese, to exploit the fisheries there. England did not miss the entire European rediscovery of the Western Hemisphere, but did retire early. While England slept, Spain became dominant in the New World and on the high seas.
The Caribbean and the Mainland
In 1493, during his second voyage, Columbus founded Isabela, the first permanent Spanish settlement in the New World, on Hispaniola. After finding gold in recoverable quantities nearby, the Spanish quickly overran the island and spread to Puerto Rico in 1508, to Jamaica in 1509, and to Cuba in 1511. The natives fared badly. Many died in one-sided armed conflict with soldiers and settlers, or in forced servitude in mines and on plantations. Others died of diseases to which they had no immunity. By mid-century, the native Ciboney of Hispaniola and western Cuba were extinct, and other tribes, including the Arawak of Puerto Rico, were nearly so. Beginning in 1508, Spanish settlements sprang up on the mainland of Central and South America. In 1519, just six years after Balboa had crossed the Isthmus of Panama and claimed the entire Pacific Ocean for Spain, Pedro Arias de Avila, Balboa's father-in-law and executioner, founded the city of Panama on the

WE will now leave the Spanish discoverers, and turn our attention to others who made voyages to the coasts of North America on similar errands.
The inhabitants were kind, but shy. The men could never be persuaded to take their wives on board the ship of the Florentine. "One of the two kings," he said, "often came with his queen and many attendants to see the vessel," but the women were kept at a distance. The country seemed to be very fertile, and abounded in their season with apples, plums, filberts and other kinds of fruit and nuts; and in the forests were great numbers of deers, lynxes and other wild animals. The dwellings of the people were generally circular in form, and built of split logs; and sometimes they were large enough to accommodate a family of twenty-five or thirty persons.
From Narragansett Bay, Verazzani sailed eastward early in May, passing among the numerous islands off the coast of Massachusetts, and touching somewhere, probably, on the coast of Maine. There he found the people coarser in appearance, less friendly, and more fierce and warlike. They were clad in the skins of the bear, the lynx, the deer and the seal. No signs of cultivation appeared, and the inhabitants seemed to live almost wholly on the products of the forest and the waters. The hills were covered with vast woods; and far in the interior he saw lofty mountains. The voyagers had very little intercourse with these Indians, and sailing eastward and northward, came to Newfoundland. Thence they turned their prow toward Europe and sailed to France. Verazzani had traversed the borders of the North American continent, as his ship sailed, about two thousand miles, and he named the vast country New France.

John Smith was captured, taken to Turkey, and sold into slavery in Russia. He murdered his master, escaped, and journeyed back to Hungary to collect a promised reward of money and a coat of arms. He returned to England in time to participate in the settlement of Virginia.
The Magna Carta English settlers who left their homeland to establish colonies in the New World brought with them charters guaranteeing that they and their heirs would "have and enjoy all liberties and immunities of free and natural subjects."
European contact with Native Americans at Jamestown marked the beginning of a tumultuous relationship. Europeans enjoyed the food of the Native Americans, while the native population was quickly decimated by diseases brought by Europeans.

John Cabot settled in England around 1494. Whatever Cabot did was in the name of the English Crown. John Cabot Not very much is known for certain about John Cabot - or Giovanni Caboto, to use his original, Italian name. We do not even know precisely when and where he was born. It is likely, though, that he was born around 1455 in Gaeta, near Naples, and was the son of a merchant. His name is also associated with Genoa, and he may have spent some time there as a boy. But by 1461 Cabot was living in Venice, where he became a citizen. In about 1482 he married a Venetian woman, Mattea, and they had three sons: Ludovico, Sebastiano and Sancio. John Cabot

    John Cabot
John Cabot (1450?-1498?) made the first English voyage to North America. His voyage, in 1497, gave England a claim to the mainland of North America and led to the founding of the English colonies in America.
Cabot was born in Genoa, Italy. His name in Italian was Giovanni Caboto. As a boy, he moved to Venice, Italy, with his parents. He grew up there and became a mapmaker and trader. He sailed the Mediterranean Sea between Venice and Egypt, trading Italian goods for spices from the Far East. Cabot married and had three sons. He moved to Bristol, England, in the 1480's, and was living there when Christopher Columbus made his historic voyage to America for Spain in 1492.
People assumed that Columbus had reached the Indies (now called the East Indies) in Asia. Cabot believed there was a shorter route than Columbus had taken. He dreamed of crossing the Atlantic Ocean farther north and bringing spices and jewels from Asia.

Spain's conquests in the New World
During the early 1500's, Spanish explorers pushed across most of Central and South America. They unintentionally brought with them smallpox and other diseases that were unknown in the Americas. As a result, thousands of Native Americans, who had no resistance to these diseases, sickened and died from them. The Spanish explorers established colonies in the new lands. Royal officials, Roman Catholic priests, and settlers arrived soon after the explorers. The Indians typically were forced to work for the Spaniards. The Spaniards also brought sugar cane, wheat, and other new plants to the Americas, as well as horses, cattle, sheep, and other domestic animals. The Spaniards took back to Europe many plants that were unknown there, such as corn and potatoes.
One of the most important Spanish expeditions in the New World was commanded by Hernando Cortes (kawr TEHZ), who left Cuba in 1519 with more than 600 men. He sailed to what is now the Mexican state of Yucatan, which was a center of Maya civilization. Cortes moved along the coast of Mexico and then inland to Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City), the capital of the Aztec empire. Along the way, he met an Indian woman named Malinche, whom the Spaniards called Dona Marina. Malinche, who knew both the Maya and the Aztec languages, served as an interpreter for Cortes.

JOHN CABOT: THE ENGLISH KING'S ITALIAN NAVIGATOR
    John Cabot (? - c. 1498)
The earliest surviving document related to the Cabot's explorations is a letters patent for a voyage to discover new lands, granted by King Henry VII on March 5, 1496
    route to Asia
Cabot left Bristol in May 1497. One month later, he saw land and disembarked briefly. He then skirted the shore for some 30 days without seeing anyone, and returned to England at the beginning of August, full of enthusiasm and convinced that he had reached Asia. In fact, Cabot was the first to report on a part of America after Christopher Columbus (1492) but his explorations were in colder regions, on the shores of what is Canada today. His landfall remains unknown. Neither a ship's log nor any authentic account of this voyage has been preserved. It is only because of numerous references found here and there that historians have been able to piece together Cabot's exploration in North America. On the whole, it is agreed that the navigator visited somewhere between Labrador and Cape Breton, most likely the east coast of Newfoundland. Page from Christopher Columbus's account
In May 1498, John Cabot left Bristol to undertake another voyage of exploration (his third), from which he never returned. "He only found new lands at the bottom of the ocean" wrote one of his contemporaries. His son Sebastian, himself a navigator, undertook his father's explorations to North America.
