July 2002 Harold Chambers received his diploma with the class of 1963 but Harold went to Grundy Elementary and most of high school with our class. His pal in high school was Steve Beller. Harold came to Roanoke to work after graduation. He married Betty from the Roanoke area and they have 4 children, 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Harold is retired from Jewell Coal and Coke where he worked as a land surveyor and with Engineering. Buddie Armes started 1st grade at Grundy with Miss Parrish’s class. He also attended Deskins Elementary School. Buddie owned the Esso Service Station in Grundy. He sold the business and moved to Ohio and worked with General Motors. Buddie retired in 1992 and is still living in Ohio. He has built a barn and is planning on building a house and moving to the Abingdon area. Buddie's hobbies are cars and car shows, fishing and working on houses. Brenda Bunn lives in Florida now but spends time with family in Grundy. After high school, Brenda went to Mary Washington College but graduated from University of South Florida. Brenda says her grandmother lived in Florida at the time. Brenda was a teacher and is now a property manager. She has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Brenda is single again.
