The ceremony included speeches made by WV State Agricultural Commissioner Gus Douglas and the Dean and Director of Land Grant Programs at WVSU, Dr. Orlando McMeans.

A group of TEACH volunteers spends the afternoon setting up tables and sorting the curriculum by subject and grade level. We have the 2-hour sale in the evening. After the sale, everyone picks up their unsold materials. Instead of making money by renting tables which must be manned by each individual family, as is done at other used curriculum sales, TEACH raises money from the sale by collecting the money for the materials sold and deducting 5% of those sales when we write the checks to those who sold curriculum. This money is used to purchase additional resources for our Resource Center.
