Site Map Current Projects Chilliwack City Council has approved a contract with Waste Management of Canada, opening the way for the launch of a unified residential recycling and garbage collection program on May 1, 2004. The Vedder Road Interchange at the Trans-Canada Highway is being rebuilt. The City, the provincial government and the federal government are each paying one-third of the $12.4 million cost, with the City managing the project. The new interchange will provide improved safety for travellers and reduced congestion during hours of heavy traffic. Construction on a new multiplex arena is under way. Under an agreement with the City, the Chilliwack Chiefs Development Group is building and will operate the facility. It will include a 3,500 seat spectator arena plus a second rink for community use.
