Mission

The Central Jersey Bird Club has a long-standing and unwavering commitment to excellence in aviculture. Our primary goals are education and support for avian research and conservation. To gather information and share it with all who desire to promote the health and welfare of all avian species, particularly those that are kept or bred as pets and identified as endangered species. History
CJBC was founded in 1991 by Alice and George Luchento, bird enthusiasts for many years. It serves Somerset, Union and Middlesex counties, but has members from other areas as well. We currently have about 150 active members and are growing all the time. Officers

Support freedom
We have several companion bird clubs in Maryland, some where discussions and activities cover all companion birds and others that focus on one particular type of bird. Each group generally meets once a month. Some of them hold annual bird shows (similar to a dog or cat show), while other groups hold special events each year, but not shows. Click on the links to learn more about each club. Here's an important site you'll want to visit

All the fashionable birders are wearing them. The Stanton Bird Club was founded in 1919 and named in honor of Dr. Jonathan Y. Stanton, a professor at Bates College in Lewiston. Over the years, a number of parcels of land were donated to the Club. These donations eventually grew to encompass some 310 acres, known as the Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary , in the heart of Lewiston, Maine's second largest city.
The Club is made up of people from a wide range of ages and backgrounds, but they all share a love of nature in general, and birds in particular. Today there are some 200 club members, including about 40 Junior Naturalists . A Board of Directors oversees the Club's finances and activities, both of which have grown tremendously in the last decade.
Although almost all of the Stanton Bird Club's activities are free of charge, membership is encouraged because dues help finance the educational programs of the Junior Naturalists, as well as help fund stewardship programs at Thorncrag and the Club's two other sanctuaries. Anyone interested in a membership brochure can e-mail membership chairperson
