Lascelles Park cash boost Main Content TRY OUT NEW SKATE PARK EQUIPMENT 13/02/04 - Young people are being asked to help Darlington Council design the Borough's new mobile skate park at a special 'Get on Board - Come and Try and Have Your Say' day next week. The event, being held on Thursday 19 February in Darlington Market Square, will offer skateboarders, rollerbladers, BMX bikers, as well as people with a general interest in the design of the Borough's new mobile skate park, a chance to try for themselves some of the equipment that could be included in the park. The Council wants to find out what young people think of the equipment to help decide what to buy for the skate park. In addition, young people attending the event will be asked to suggest a name for the 'truck' - the vehicle that will house and transport the mobile skate park equipment. The mobile skate park will be funded by £70,000 of New Opportunities Fund money. The funding was secured by the Ramps Team, a group of local young people who are leading research into possible skate park solutions for the Borough, and Darlington Council. When it opens later this year, the mobile skate park will tour around the Borough giving local young people the chance to try out their boarding, blading and biking skills in their own area. Lee Vasey, the Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: "Many young people have already taken part in research and consultation led by the Ramps Team to share their views on what they would like to see in terms of skate park facilities in the Borough. Their views have been used to shape the future of skate park facilities including a static skate park in South Park and the new mobile skate park. The 'Get on Board - Come and Try and Have Your Say' afternoon will give young people a further chance to directly influence what facilities will be provided in the Borough."

It will take place Friday June 7, 2002. My role that day will be to teach parents how to check and fit helmets and work with them through the day. Checking children class by class. My proposal is to purchase helmets through a local sports store and to work with the Principal to develop a process to give helmet certificates to needy students. The parents will likely come with their child to the Health Centre to pick up the helmet and have it fitted properly. Blairmore CrowsNest Pass Community Health Bike rodeos + bike + helmet inspections. Teaching signals + safety. Playground safety info. sessions for parents of preschool children. Bonnyville Bonnyville Health Unit Children will be given ribbons at all of the events. After participating in all of the events they can then enter their name in for a draw prize.

That's not a mistake. There are no meetings scheduled for those months. With trying to work around religious holidays and other rodeos in April and various Pride celebrations in June, it just wasn't feasible to have meetings scheduled. Just a reminder that Board meeting are open to members who wish to attend. They will be held the 2nd Thursday of every month this year at the Capital Hilton.
