'Brane-Storm' Challenges Part of Big Bang Theory (cont.)
Details of the Ekpyrotic Universe theory
The following technical description was provided to SPACE.com by the authors (Justin Khoury, Princeton; Burt Ovrut, UPenn; Paul Steinhardt, Princeton and Neil Turok, Cambridge): Our paper proposes a new theory of the very early universe that resolves the famous puzzles of the hot Big Bang picture the horizon, flatness and monopole problems and that generates fluctuations in energy that seed galaxy formation and produce temperature variations in the cosmic microwave background. The model is based on the idea that our hot Big Bang universe was created from the collision of two three-dimensional worlds moving along a hidden, extra dimension. The inflationary model of the universe, developed in the 1980's by Alan Guth (MIT), Andre Linde (Stanford), Andreas Albrecht (UC Davis) and Steinhardt, was designed to resolve these very same problems, relying on a period of exponential hyper-expansion, or inflation. Conceptually, the ekpyrotic model is very different. There is no inflation or rapid change happening at all. The approach to collision takes places very slowly over an exceedingly long period of time. It is quite fascinating that rapid change and very slow change can produce nearly the same effects. The difference results in one distinctive observational prediction, though: Inflationary cosmology predicts a spectrum of gravitational waves that may be detectable in the cosmic microwave background. The ekpyrotic model predicts no gravitational wave effects should be observable in the cosmic microwave background.

Even then the mathematics is faulty. Newton based all of his theories on the universe being flat. We all know that that is impossible, and if you disagree then you need to go back to middle school drafting 101. The universe, or its parts, has either a positive curvature or a negative curvature. I tend to stick with the former. Now when you apply Newton's laws to a spherical universe, positive curvature, you end up with bizarre and utterly incorrect answers. Newton's Laws are good for calculating the velocity of jets and that is all. We know that the Big Bang occurred due to the fact that there is a large amount of red shift in relation to galaxies. That is from the Doppler Effect. This means that if there is a uniform trajectory then the galaxies shared a common point of space at some point. This even works with higher-dimensional teseracts such as the hypercube. You need to at least pay attention in cl as the Big Bang is a fundamental principle in astrophysics.

84. The Big Bang Theory
So under this standard, could you even call the big bang, a theory? A lot of thingsin astrophysics is hog wash. The big bang is just a story; not a theory.

Abstract
A singularity-free model of the universe is developed within the framework of the Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker cosmology, which gives a physical explanation for the origin of the big bang and for the preponderance of matter over antimatter. It is shown that the model retains all the useful features of the standard-cosmology (Weinberg, 1972; Sandage, 1988) hot big-bang (HBB) model and resolves, in a very natural way, all the difficulties of the HBB model, such as the occurrence of space-time singularity. The new model also resolves the problem of the baryon asymmetry and can accont for the currently observed value of nu.

Superconducting cameras to photograph the Big Bang 15 July 2002 Major scientific advances, such as studying the very earliest moments of the Big Bang, finding galaxies beyond the edge of the currently observable universe, creating the next generation of x-ray astronomy satellites and sub-cellular imaging of DNA and other biological materials are all now a step closer
This follows the signing of an agreement between Oxford Instruments and the Astrophysics Group of the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge. The 20-year agreement combines two of the UK's leading superconducting detector groups and their complementary areas of expertise to establish a new single low-temperature electronics facility to be located at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge. The facility will allow the combined team to create a new generation of analytical techniques for the physical and biological sciences. The team will develop advanced superconducting detectors, superconducting microchips, and optical components for the whole of the electromagnetic spectrum. Steve McQuillan, Managing Director of Oxford Instruments Superconductivity said, "This agreement is of international significance since it brings together world class skills to work synergistically to advance superconducting detectors."
