Chameleon's are the personification of the exotic world of mother nature. There is nothing quite as unique as one of the many species of chameleons. Currently we have breeding programs for the Montium and Veiled chameleons but will be expanding our list of species over time. With over 100 species of chameleons known in the world, the knowledge require d to successfully breed and raise these exotic animals in capitivity is limited. As we collect more information on the care and husbandry of the chameleons we'll offer more species to the public.

We are private breeders (a husband/wife team) of bearded dragons - specializing in the many different color morphs of bearded dragons ( Pogona Vitticeps ). We purchased our first bearded dragon many years ago as a hatchling and our collection has now grown to about 170 adults and it's still growing!! Even though beardies look somewhat threatening, they are very personable lizards. Bearded Dragons are hardy lizards that attain a moderate adult size and you can care for them rather easily - therefore making them one of the most popular pet lizards available.
Bearded Dragon ( Pogona Vitticeps ) - We are currently working with many different blood-lines and color morphs of bearded dragons... They are divided into 3 seperate breeding cycles. All babies are approximately 6-7 inches long, unless otherwise noted and sexing of the hatchlings is available. Pet shops and wholesalers please inquire.

Common Diseases of Bearded Dragons
Part 3: Adenoviruses Roger Klingenberg DVM, The Vivarium , August/September 1998, 9(6) In Parts 1 and 2 [in The Vivarium , 9(4) and 9(5)], I discussed the parasitic and nutritional diseases seen commonly in bearded dragons ("Pogona vitticeps). We discussed how bearded dragons are not always "bullet proof" lizards. As if these afflictions weren't enough, an adenovirus is now being diagnosed with increasing frequency. While this virus appears to primarily take advantage of the young and weak, all ages can be affected. Let's discuss some aspects of this viral disorder. Adenovirus disease in bearded dragons is poorly understood for the same reason many reptile disorders are not well delineated lack of funding for critical research. Here's what we know. Signs of Adenovirus Infection:
In bearded dragons that are sick with adenoviruses, there are unfortunately no specific signs to watch for. Most of the bearded dragons that have been diagnosed with adenoviruses have had a history of being poor doers, sometimes showing poor appetite, and sometimes exhibiting diarrhea. Sometimes, they die. The young, especially those four to 12 weeks of age, appear to be affected more often than older specimens.

Taking care of bearded dragons
This article is about a lizard called the bearded dragon and how to take care of it for those that are thinking about buying one and keeping it as a pet.
Bearded dragons are becoming one of the most popular lizards to have as a pet. Bearded dragons are from south, central Australia. They are drunal lizards (active during the day). With proper care these lizards can live ten years in captivity. All of these lizards that are available in the United States are captive bred from founder animals imported from Europe because of the wildlife laws in Australia. bodyOffer(17010) When housing your bearded dragon, you should use a bare enclosure, either a glass aquarium or a large plastic enclosure. Its also a good idea to have a screen cover on top of the enclosure to prevent the lizard from escaping and to prevent children or other pets from getting a hold of it. A ten gallon tank should be large enough for a new hatchling, but within six months or less, the lizard will need a bigger enclosure at least 24 inches or longer. When they become adults, a 50 gallon tank or larger should be used especially if you are going to put more than one lizard in the same tank. Adult bearded dragons love to climb branches and bask, so its a good idea to include branches for climbing and a basking site for basking. Another good idea is to have hiding spots especially if you are going to house females and males in the same enclosure. The bottom of the tank should either be bare, have paper toweling, newsprint, or sand.

Bearded Dragon (Pogona Vitticepts)
The Bearded Dragon is a moderate sized lizard, attaining a maximum length of about 22 inches (half of which is tail). This lizard is native to South and Central Australia. They are active during the day and seem to fall asleep within minutes of the lights going off in the evening. When these lizards are out in the wild, they spend most of their time perched on logs, rocks, and tree trunks, alert for the approach of any potential food item. They store nutrients in huge abdominal fat bodies, then dig into the ground and hibernate for long periods during unfavorable times. Female bearded dragons lay clutches of 15-25 eggs. The hatchlings grow rapidly and are usually 5 inches long by the end of their first month. There is both coloration and size variation among different races of bearded dragons. Coloration varies from a uniform tan to chocolate brown, with different hues on the head, throat, back and tail. Males tend to develop much broader heads and a larger black beard. Both sexes engage in stereotypical arm waving behavior to appease more dominant animals. This animal is becoming one of the most popular lizards in the pet trade. One of the good qualities which makes bearded dragons such an appealing pet lizard is that with minimal training, they will sit calmly for moderate periods of time in your hand or on your shoulder. Dragons are very mellow lizards, but if provoked they will exhibit an open-mouthed threat display. If this display is ignored, a bite may follow.

Introduction
Popular as pets, bearded dragons or "beardies" are moderately sized lizards native to Australia. They are not inexpensive to care for as they have, like many other lizards, strict nutritional and environmental requirements that need to be met for them to thrive. However, they are social and easy to tame and handle, and show a range of fascinating behaviors that make them interesting to watch.

Bearded dragons like it HOT! The key to heating your enclosure is providing a temperature gradient from a hot basking zone, to a cooler area. Basking temps should reach well over 100 degrees F. The cooler zone should be around 85 degrees.
The brighter the light, the better. Dragons thrive under a good full spectrum UV source. We recommend active UV/heat or mercury vapor bulbs. These bulbs work double time to give your dragon quality UV and producing heat at the same time. You may also use fluorescent UV full spectrum tubes, although they do not produce the same UV quality. The colors and health of your lizard depend on good heat, bright light and UV. Your dragon will also benefit from natural sunlight and we recommend bringing your lizard outside in an outdoor basking enclosure. However the more natural sunlight you expose them to, the less supplements you should give, especially vitamin D3 (this may also be the case when using the active UV/heat bulbs). We also think that younger dragons may become stressed when taken outside, and therefore suggest holding off on outdoor excursions until your dragon is older .
Sexing: Sexing dragons, especially young dragons, takes a lot of trial and effort. We personally feel it is not possible to 100% guarantee sex on young dragons. However there are differences between male and female dragons. Generally the male has a larger head, wider tail base, larger pores, and most noticeably, hemipenal bulges. Young male dragons have two bulges, with a slight space between them just behind the vent. Lifting the tail and twisting gently may allow for the hemipenal bulges to appear more pronounced. Females generally have one central or no bulges where the hemipenes would be. However its not uncommon for what is thought to be a female, to turn out to be an undeveloped (at the time of sexing) male, and vice versa.

: 28o to 38oC (86o-110oF)during the day and 20o to 22oC (69o-74oF)at night. Required Space : Young Bearded Dragons can be housed in a 10-20 gallon terrarium. Adult Bearded Dragons can be housed in a minimum terrarium size of 50 gallons. Bearded Dragons also make great animals to display in a well made all wood terrarium with sliding glass front. Breeding : Bearded Dragons are relatively easy to breed in captivity. These animals seem to require a cooling period and a reduction in the day length but this is not necessary to induce breeding. Bearded Dragons can be considered sexually mature at as early as 16 months of age and some (generally males) may breed at younger ages; however, it is recommended that females be at least 18 months before breeding occurs to allow for proper growth. Breeding occurs from January through to March and clutches of fifteen to thirty are produced. It is essential to have a moist area for the female to deposit the eggs to ensure their survival. Eggs should be removed and placed in an incubator. With an incubation temperature of about 28.9 degrees Celsius, Bearded Dragons should be easily hatched in 55-75 days. Special Requirements : Bearded Dragons like all sun loving diurnal lizards (active during the day) need full spectrum UV lighting, proper heating, and calcium/vitamin supplementation to prevent metabolic bone disease. This species is docile, eats readily, and is a hardy animal that makes a great beginner lizard; however, hatchlings should be left for about a month without any handling to make sure they get on a good feeding schedule. Most people make the mistake of handling their animal too soon and they end up with a very stressed lizard that refuses to eat. For the first month, the contact you should have with your lizard should be for feeding, cleaning, and changing water only.
