History of Bangladesh
Bangladesh was once part of the Indian state of Bengal. East and West Bengal together was called Greater Bengal. In 1947, India became independent and a new country was created from the two parts called Pakistan where Muslims were in the majority. East Pakistan actually was East Bengal which is now Bangladesh. After a brief period of conflict with Pakistan, Bangladesh came into existence on 16th December1971.
Geography:
Education system:
In Bangladesh about 35% adults are litereate. Poor families cannot afford to let their children go to school so instead they work. Although primary schools are free, only about 80% of eligible pupils attend them. Only 25% of them will complete five years of basic education. After having completed basic or primary education pupils start class 6 at high school and get their Secondary School Certificate after they have studied another 4 years.

Sexual relationships in Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia is about more than Buddhist monks, tropical fruit, and white-sand beaches. It is also about the most beautiful women in the world, and excellent prospects for Western men to enter into meaningful sexual relationships. And I have to stress: I do not mean frequenting prostitutes. Of course, the wide range options for meaningful sexual relationships that exists in Southeast Asia is not obvious to the tourist or occasional business visitor. Like most of the Western men who live permanently in Southeast Asia, I myself have moved to this part of the world in search of paradise… not on palm-fringed beaches, but in the embrace of young beautiful women (and no, not the same one for years on end). I have now set up a new website, www.AsiaLove.org

angladesh, a land of miracles, is known for its chronic population problem.
With an area about the size of Wisconsin, Bangladesh is the ninth-most populated country in the world. Its 115 million inhabitants are crammed into an 56,000-square mile area, which means the country has an average of more than 2,000 people per square mile. This makes Bangladesh the most densely populated nation (excluding the city states) in the world. Bangladesh adds about 3 million people to its population every year. Every five years, the country adds as many people as inhabit the entire continent of Australia. Realizing the economic and social consequences of rapid population growth, the Bangladesh government adopted a population control program as early as the mid-1960s. This program has led to dramatic decline in birth rates in Bangladesh. The total birth rate, which was 6.3 births per women in the early 1970s, declined to 3.4 for the period 1991-93, a 1993-94 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) said. A number of factors have played a role in birth rate decline in Bangladesh. There has been a substantial rise in the age at marriage. The mean age at first marriage for women increased from 16.6 years in 1974 to 18.2 years in 1991. It increased from 23.9 to 25.3 years for men during the same period. The proportion of married women using contraception increased from 8 percent in 1975 to 45 percent in 1993-94.

Dhaka - Culture Dhaka, formerly Dacca, is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh, in Dhaka Division, central Bangladesh. It is located in the geographic center of the country in the great deltaic region of the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers. The population, which is largely Muslim, is 3,300,000 (1989 est.). Dhaka is served by the port of Narayanganj, located 16 km (10 mi) to the southeast. The city is within the monsoon climate zone, with an annual average temperature of 25 deg C (77 deg F) and monthly means varying between 18 deg C (64 deg F) in January and 29 deg C (84 deg F) in August. Nearly 80% of the annual average rainfall of 1,854 mm (73 in) occurs between May and September. Dhaka is located in one of the world's leading rice- and jute-growing regions. Its industries include textiles (jute, muslin, cotton) and food processing, especially rice milling. A variety of other consumer goods are also manufactured here. The Muslim influence is reflected in the more than 700 mosques and historic buildings found throughout the city. The four major religions though are Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity. The Muslims constitute about 87 percent of the population. The constitution of the country guarantees full freedom of religious and cultural activities for all communities. Social life is marked by communal harmony and peace. Islam was declared state religion by a constitutional amendment in June 1988. Dhaka is divided into an old city, a modern section called Ramne, and many residential and industrial communities. The University of Dhaka (1921) and several technical schools and museums are located here. Dhaka was founded during the 10th century. It served as the Mogul capital of Bengal from 1608 to 1704 and was a trading center for British, French, and Dutch interests before coming under British rule in 1765. In 1905 it was again named the capital of Bengal, and in 1956 it became the capital of East Pakistan. The city suffered heavy damage during the Bangladesh war of independence (1971).

http://www.asiatravelling.net/bangladesh/chittagong/chittagong_culture.htm
Chittagong - Culture C hittagong, the second largest city of Bangladesh and a busy international seaport, is an ideal vacation spot. Its green hills and forests, its broad sandy beaches and its fine cool climate always attract the holiday-markers makers who come to swim in the blue waters of the Bay of Bengal, to bask in the sun, to fish in the lakes and rivers and to hunt in the game-filled forests. Described by the Chinese traveller poet, Huen Tsang (7th century A.D.) as "a sleeping beauty emerging from mists and water" and given the title of "Porto Grande" by the 16th century Portuguese seafarers. Chittagong remains true to both the descriptions even today. It combines remains true to both the descriptions even today. It combines the busy hum of an active seaport with the shooting quiet of a charming hill town. The city has notable Hindu temples, Buddhist ruins, several fine examples of Mughal art, a university (founded 1966), and many colleges. The Shahi Jama-e-Masjid and Qadam Mubarak Mosque are two of the most impressive buildings in the city. It's also worth visiting the Ethnological Museum (one of the only two Ethnological museums in whole Asia ) in the Modern City which has interesting displays on Bangladesh's tribal peoples. There are good views and cooling breezes from Fairy Hill in the British City in the northwestern sector of the city. The markets and goldsmith lanes are worth a visit and a sampan river journey is a must. North of the city is the
