Our 4 branches have over 90 personnel charged with the responsibility of developing safety standards for new flight technologies. DIVISION MANAGER'S WELCOME STATEMENT: Welcome to the Flight Technologies and Procedures Division (AFS-400). We work together with our internal and external customers to implement major projects including Controller Pilot Data Link Communications; Next Generation Air to Ground Communications; Required Navigation Performance; Wide Area Augmentation System; Automatic Surveillance Broadcast, and the Electronic Flight Bag, become integral components of the national Airspace System. Providing the aviation community with tangible benefits, based upon the implementation of these new technologies, is the cornerstone of our mission.
