It is an especially interesting place to visit. These Sculptures are an example of Maori carvings that would guard the entrance to a Maori village. Auckland is situated on a stretch of land referred to geographically as an Isthmus. This is a stretch of land separating two seas. The coast to coast walk begins at the Pacific Ocean and ends at the Tasman Sea.
