UCF Defeats Oklahoma State 12-9 In 10 Innings

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Ryan Bono hit a game-winning three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift UCF to a 12-9 win over Oklahoma State in NCAA regional play Saturday night at Dick Howser Stadium. UCF advanced to the regional championship round against host Florida State tomorrow and improved to 46-17 overall, while Oklahoma State's season ended with a 38-24 mark on the year. The Golden Knights had three straight walks in the 10th, with the leadoff runner erased at second on a caught stealing by Jason Jaramillo. Bono then hit a shot to right for the game winner off of reliever Travis Ingle (0-3). The Cowboys had a furious rally in the ninth to tie the game at 9-9. Carlee Ullery, Emily Bikowski, Sophie Dress Earn Women's Lacrosse All-America Honors
Junior Emily Bikowski scored a team-best 36 goals this season. FARMVILLE, Va. – Senior Carlee Ullery/Keswick (Albemarle) along with juniors Emily Bikowski/Fairfax (Bishop O’Connell) and Sophie Dress/Ellicott City, Md. (Howard) garnered IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-America citations, after leading Longwood to an impressive 14-1 record, including a 7-1 mark against Division I competition during the 2004 campaign.  Ullery and Bikowski were selected to the first team, while Dress received second-team recognition.  The trio combined for 119 of the team’s 355 points this season on 75 goals and 44 assists.
Evan Weinstein Earns Academic All-America 1st-Team Honors
1st-Team Academic All-American Evan Weinstein FARMVILLE, Va. Longwood University's Evan Weinstein/Toronto, Ontario,Canada has been named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division Baseball First-Team . A recent summa cum laude graduate of the University in business administration, including a concentration in finance, he attained a perfect 4.00 GPA. Weinstein becomes only the fourth individual from Longwood to gain first-team accolades among seven previous recipients from the institution, and is the only representative from a Virginia college among the 12-member first team.
