Football
Head coach Geno DeMarco and his staff have welcomed the challenge of making Geneva College a competitive force year in and year out in the NAIA. Geneva plays in the very challenging Mid-States Football Association. In the Mideast League, the Golden Tornadoes have taken home three conference titles since joining the league in 1994. Geneva, which is coming off a 7-5 season in 2002, captured its third NCCAA Title with a 19-9 victory over Northwestern College to close out last year's campaign. In 2003, Geneva welcomes back two-time all-conference quarterback Ben Swallow. Swallow will also be accompanied by tailback Josh Mullen, who rushed for over 1000 yards in his sophomore season. Geneva's defense will be anchored by two-time All-American cornerback Mark Villella.
More important than the records and success on the field, every four-year player under Coach DeMarco's leadership has graduated from Geneva. The football staff takes great pride in developing the whole person and not just great athletes. Our coaches promote a standard of success in all aspects of life while providing players the opportunity to participate in one of the most recognized small college programs in the region. The Golden Tornadoes will welcome 30 new players to the mix this fall. With a strong returning core of players and an influx of new talent, the mix seems to be one programmed for success.

About I.B.S.A. News Technical Dept. Competitions ... Extranet Technical Department Section / Athletics
General Information
Athletics is the most widespread I.B.S.A. sport, practised in international competitions by more than 70 countries.
Competition is organised according to the I.B.S.A. Classification System, using all three classes - B1, B2 and B3. The rules of the International Athletic Associations Federation (IAAF) are followed for a range of traditional Athletics events that is more or less complete except for events such as the Hurdles races, the Steeplechase, and the Pole Vault. IAAF Rules are followed in their entirety by the class B3 athletes, but there are necessary modifications in the case of the more severe visual impairments - Class B2 and B1. Some of these modifications involve adjustments to the Athletics facilities, or to the way in which they are used. Most of the modifications regulate the way in which these classes may be given assistance (by running guides, for example, or by callers supplying auditory guidance in field events) to enable them to perform in authentic competition.
Athletics competitions for Blind and Visually Impaired athletes have a long history, and since the formation of I.B.S.A. in 1981 there has been a regular programme of international competition at a continental and world level. Presently Athletics championships at a continental level take place regularly in European and Pan American continents. The I.B.S.A. European Championships have been held every two years since 1983. Blind Athletics have been part of the FESPIC Games in the Pacific region since their inception.

Quality hosting facilities
How to enjoy at the same time the intense emotions of the competition and the unique "art de vivre" of Paris. The 9th IAAF World Championships in Athletics are not only a thrilling international sporting event, they also represent an ideal opportunity to enjoy the treasures of Paris and the surrounding regions. The quality of accommodation is therefore essential.
Paris supported by the Ile-de-France is well equipped to deal with a massive and sudden arrival of sports fans. The string of top sporting events, such as international rugby, football matches, Roland Garros…, together with Paris's places as the world's premier tourist destination and international business tourism capital highlights this fact.
