God's own people are destroyed for their lack of knowledge. Protect your child from the traps of humanism which is nothing different than the original snare used by the serpent to deceive Eve. People are often deceived by a false association of words.
They relate humanitarian with the good Samaritan.
Then they equate the belief system of humanism with humanitarianism.
Then they accept the idea of supporting humanistic projects which give no glory to God.

Approximate Reading Time:
6 Minutes April 26 2004 Edition Note: If you have only recently left Jehovah's Witnesses, this article may not be for you, as it does not deal with the challenge of overcoming JW indoctrination. This article will mainly interest those people who are at a later stage of recovery. Introduction "How can somebody not believe in God?" People who have believed in God for all or most of their lives can scarcely imagine otherwise. reason for it all. Moreover, theists (people who believe in God) never feel completely alone, and they have an organized set of principles (in the Bible, or the Koran, or whatever) to give structure to their lives. However, knowing that an idea is helpful does not tell us if it is true or false. For example, in the past people believed that problems stemming from incest were punishment from a god. Some still do. However, most of us now understand that it is a matter of genetics, not divine retribution. The explanation was wrong, even though the advice (i.e. to avoid incest) prevented a lot of suffering. It is easy to conclude there is a god at work when there is a mundane (but unknown) explanation. People have, at times, conducted rituals to bring rain to water the crops. When these rituals failed, they assumed they had done them incorrectly, or the gods were angry with them. When they worked, they considered it proof that the gods had smiled upon them. Yet it was simply a matter of meteorology: sometimes it rained and sometimes it didn't. There's no evidence that some gods were paying attention in this matter.

Atheism and Hinduism
"Atheism is a necessary protest against the wickedness of the churches and the narrowness of the creeds. God uses it as stone to smash these soiled card-houses." - Sri Aurobindo Of the numerous schools of thought that gained prominence during the epic period as a reaction against the excessive ritualism and empty dogmatism of vedic religion or perhaps the increasing rigidity of caste system, one school of thought attracts the attention of present day scholars not only for its radical approach to the problems of blind belief but also for its similarities with the modern day rationalism and materialism of the west. It was the lokayata school of thought, believed to have been founded by Charvaka, whose history is shrouded in great mystery and myth. The world lokayata was used to refer to the person who believed in the reality of this world and the physical existence of man and of other beings on earth and nothing else. 'Loka' means the world and 'lokayata' means he who is centered around or relies upon this world only. The lokayatas believed in the existence of this world only, neither in heaven nor in hell, neither in vice nor virtue. They accepted only that reality which they could subjectively perceive and interact with, not in any imaginary world or some kind of ideal world. Practical and down to the earth, they believed in the existence of four elements only, namely the earth, water, fire, and air instead of the five elements of the vedic scriptures of which space or ether was the fifth element.

64. Atheism And Pantheism: Religious Atheism
Parallels between atheism and pantheism, with pantheistic quotes from leading atheists Hume, La Mettrie, d Holbach, Shelley, Sagan.

Atheism and pantheism: religious atheists
Principles of scientific pantheism* by Paul Harrison. Featured, Dec. 12, 1996. Are you a pantheist? Find out now at Scientific Pantheism.
Pantheists don't just want to be negative about Gods and heavens beyond this world. They want to be enthusiastically positive about this life, this earth, this universe. Many famous atheists have had the same feelings.
Theists and other critics have often regarded pantheism as atheism in disguise. Yet atheists often mistrust pantheism and see it as theism in disguise. Some atheists are so concerned with combatting the enemy - theism - that they leap to the opposite extreme, reducing life to blind selfish genes or the universe to bleak meaninglessness. But many atheists - even among the best known and most militant - have also had powerful feelings towards nature and the universe: feelings of reverence, love, awe and sense of belonging to nature and the material universe. Below on this page you will find quotes that show these feelings very clearly, from Hume, d'Holbach, la Mettrie, Shelley, and Sagan. They are so close to the feelings that believers have towards their deities, that they may be called religious. This is exactly the position of scientific pantheism.

68. The Philosophy Of Atheism, An Essay By Emma Goldman (1916)
level The Philosophy of atheism. by Emma Goldman. earth. The philosophy of atheism expresses the expansion and growth of the human mind.
http://www.spunk.org/library/writers/goldman/sp001502.html
The Philosophy of Atheism
by Emma Goldman
First published in February 1916 in the Mother Earth journal. To give an adequate exposition of the Philosophy of Atheism, it would be necessary to go into the historical changes of the belief in a Deity, from its earliest beginning to the present day. But that is not within the scope of the present paper. However, it is not out of place to mention, in passing, that the concept God, Supernatural Power, Spirit, Deity, or in whatever other term the essence of Theism may have found expression, has become more indefinite and obscure in the course of time and progress. In other words, the God idea is growing more impersonal and nebulous in- proportion as the human mind is learning to understand natural phenomena and in the degree that science pro- gressively correlates human and social events. God, today, no longer represents the same forces as in the beginning of His existence; neither does He direct human destiny with the same Iron hand as of yore. Rather does the God idea express a sort of spiritualistic stimalus to satisfy the fads and fancies of every shade of human weak- ness. In the course of human development the God idea has been forced to adapt itself to every phase of human affairs, which is perfectly consistent with the origin of the idea itself. The conception of gods originated in fear and curiosity. Primitive man, unable to understand the phenomena of nature and harassed by them, saw in every terrifying manifestation some sinister force expressly directed against him; and as ignorance and fear are the parents of all super- stition, the troubled fancy of primitive man wove the God idea.

Agnosticism/Atheism Quotations
Quotations on agnosticism and atheism - living without God or without certainty about the existence of God. Bertrand Russell In conclusion, there is a marvelous anecdote from the occasion of Russell's ninetieth birthday that best serves to summarize his attitude toward God and religion. A London lady sat next to him at this party, and over the soup she suggested to him that he was not only the world's most famous atheist but, by this time, very probably the world's oldest atheist. "What will you do, Bertie, if it turns out you're wrong?" she asked. "I mean, what if uh when the time comes, you should meet Him? What will you say?" Russell was delighted with the question. His bright, birdlike eyes grew even brighter as he contemplated this possible future dialogue, and then he pointed a finger upward and cried, "Why, I should say, 'God, you gave us insufficient evidence.'" Al Seckel, in Preface to Bertrand Russell on God and Religion

The most influential Catholic lay group during the Franco period was the controversial Opus Dei (Work of God). This group did not fit conveniently into any political category. Although it denied any political aims, its members played pivotal roles in the modernization of the economy under Franco and in the subsequent liberalization of politics and government. At the same time, they were theologically conservative, and their desire for modernization was far from radical. They believed that economic reforms would improve society to the extent that thoroughgoing political reforms would be unnecessary Opus Dei was founded in 1928 by an Aragonese priest, Jose Maria Escriva de Balaguer y Albas, and it was subsequently recognized by the Roman Catholic Church as its first secular religious institution. Although attention has been drawn primarily to its activities in Spain, it is an international body with members and associates throughout the world. Members take a vow to dedicate their professional talents to the service of God and to seek to win converts through their missionary zeal. The organization in Spain has emphasized professional excellence, and it has expected its members to serve in important government positions

79. The Atheist And His Atheism.
The atheist and his atheism. atheism is defined by Webster s New World Dictionary as, 1. the belief that there is no God, or denial that God or gods exist.
http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/atheism.htm
The atheist and his atheism. keywords: atheism, God, atheist, Jesus, agnostic, Christianity, religion, philosophy
Atheism is defined by Webster's New World Dictionary as, "1. the belief that there is no God, or denial that God or gods exist. 2. godlessness" . An atheist, therefore, is a person who believes that there is no God. But what does the Bible say? The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. PSALMS XIV:I Atheism is a belief system that ardently denies the existence of God. God calls the atheist a FOOL. Many atheists spend much time and effort attempting to "disprove" that God exists. According to Romans chapter 1 they know that He exists, but they want to control their own lives and not submit to the Lord. They are actually rather tragic figures just like any other unsaved individual. It is hard to live out their atheism if they did, they'd actually be considered crazy like O'Hair was. The atheist's RELIGION (which is simply a system of beliefs based on a philosophy) of atheism is simply a way to try to block out and override the truththe ol' ostrich-head-in-the-sand technique: If you try to tell 'em the truth, they say "Shut up!"
