Theories: The Filipinos had a civilization of their own as early as 25,000 years ago – proven by archeological findings in: A.) Calatagan, Batangas B.) Tabon Caves, Palawan C.) Caves of Bikolandia and Batanes D.) Kulaman Plateau, Cotabato E.) Basco The Philippines was once connected to Mainland Asia by land bridges which gradually sank in the China Sea, as a result of the constant leveling work of the ocean waves. He was the first one to theorize this and was proven to be correct in later years by geological and hydrographic surveys which found out that the Philippines is still connected by 3 isthmuses to Borneo and Celebes. The land bridges also connected Borneo to Java, Sumatra , Malaya and Mainland Asia. It was through this land bridges that the first inhabitants came over to the Philippines. The first wave of immigrants Dr. Beyer called PROTO MALAYS – came from the Malayan Peninsula. These

By Rasmi Shoocongdej, Department of Archaeology, Silpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand "At the WAC-4 meeting in South Africa, I gave a regional report on a serious looting problem in Southeast Asia, particularly in Cambodia. Here, I would like to continue to address this critical issue: the illicit trafficking in archaeological treasures. I bring up this issue perhaps it is a global problem very frequently encountered in third world countries. Inevitably, this problem directly impacts on archaeological interpretation because artefacts lose value if we don’t know their provenance or associated context. Knowledge of the past is thus lost forever…

Two outstanding monuments of Central Asian archeology - the townships of Old and New Nisa- are situated on the grounds of Bagir village about 18 km from Ashgabat. Old Nisa was an important center of the Parthian state, which existed since the III c. BC up to the III c. AD and rivaled with Rome for supremacy in the Near East.
In particular, in 53 BC the Parthians managed to bring a crushing defeat upon the Romans in the battle of Karres (a small village in Northern Mesopotamia); thousands of Roman soldiers were sent to settle in the remote Margiana, in the valley of the Murgab river.
New Nisa is older than Old Nisa. Life stopped at Old Nisa already in the III c. AD, when the Parthian state was conquered by the Pershian dynasty of Sasanids, however the New Nisa was still inhabited later, up to the XVI-XVIIc.c.

[LITERATURE] U.S. archeologist bases novel on fieldwork in Korea
A n international authority on Korean archeology recently released a novel based on her field experiences here and is winning solid acclaim from its readers in the United States. "Spirit Bird Journey," the first novel by Sarah Nelson, professor of archeology at University of Denver, has emerged as a hot seller, strongly recommended by the influential Web retailer amazon.com with a five-star rating. The fiction tells of Clara, an adoptee from Korea who travels to Korea to pursue archaeology and becomes fascinated with Korea's prehistoric past and its mysterious culture. Clara goes on to dream about the whole life of a prehistoric woman while she experiences a year in Korea. In an interesting twist, her fantasy about the Neolithic times and actual experiences in today's Korea intertwine and clash in the novel. ¡ãProf. Sarah Nelson With a sizable portion of the book devoted to prehistoric artifacts and other scholarly observations, "Spirit Bird Journey" gives a rare inside look at archeology as a vocation while delving into ethnic differences and cultural misunderstandings regarding overseas adoptees. The excavation sites Clara works on in the novel are not fictional, but based on Prof. Nelson's actual field experience of more than five years at the Amsa-dong and Osan-ri prehistoric sites in Korea.

According to I. Finckel, vice division manager of Western asian archeology inthe British Museum, the Ur game is a racing game played by 2 players.
http://www.sugoroku.net/history_e/history1.html
The History of Sugoroku ¡The Game Board of Ur, 3200 BC Where, when, in which country and how has sugoroku been born?
Sugoroku is a type of board games like Shogi, Igo or Chess. One of the oldest board games is exhibited in the Iraqi National Museum in Baghdad. (This museum is said to have been bombed by American Airforce through the Persian Gulf War in 1990) Among all, the game board of 2600 BC which is excavated in the king's tomb of the third Ur dynasty in southern Iraqi is the most elegant and exquisite, thus called Royal Game of Ur. It is decorated with jewelry and patched on the board face and side with block formed or eye formed shell blade mosaic. This game's rule has been determined in England where is acknowledged as the most advanced place in its researches in the history of games. According to I. Finckel, vice division manager of Western Asian Archeology in the British Museum, "the Ur game is a racing game played by 2 players. Players advance their pieces from the starting block to the finish block. It uses one triangular pyramid formed dice and 5 black and white pieces each. It has fairly complicated playing rule. For example, you can forward to 13th block when the number of dice turns to 2, you can throw dice twice when you hit one of 5 Rosetta blocks and so on". It is said there were some game boards in Iraqi National Museum in Baghdad which should be made in the 1st Ur dynasty or earlier. These boards are called mushroom type, are the origin of racing game. It has been proved that these game boards originated in Ur had been used for play then in various wider areas such as Palestine, Pakistan and Iran. The form of the board has varied into so many shapes like hippopotamus, snake or racket form, and the carving and decoration technique became more technically elaborate.

Archaeological Finds Pertaining to the Amazons II
What was the secret, the special genius, of Catal Huyuk, and did it have any connection with the Amazons? Was it the beginning of the thread that would wind itself through the millennia and end up weaving the haunting image of the women warrior? L.W.Wilde There were no disputes between unfriendly
nations as the harbour was believed to be under the protection of the goddess, Ephesia, and had been internationally recognized as a sacred area since 3000 BC. According to local legends the Amazons took refuge here in flight from Herakles. In 7th century BC the temple of Artemis, goddess of hunting, was invaded by wild Cimmerian warriors, but they did little more than threaten the locals, perhaps because they feared Ephesia.
The magnificent temple of which Christian writers speak as that
of "the great Goddess whom all Asia and the world worshippeth" replaced the earlier and more famous shrine which burned to the ground on the night of Alexander's birth. Two hundred and twenty years had been spent in the process of building the first temple, and when this was destroyed the Ephesians at once began the construction of another even more costly. The older Artemisium is said to have possessed among its treasures four statues of Amazons executed by four of the most distinguished sculptors of the fifth century, Phidias, Polyclitus, Cresilas, and Phradom. The tradition is only on of many which indicate very close connection between the Amazons and this sanctuary.

1. The finding of two bronze sculpture heads of sheep, an iron dagger and a ten and a half iron ingots for moulding wares, seemingly swords, originates from the Isfara valley. All of them are referred to V-IV c.c. B.C.
The Isfara small heads are fragments of the sculptures or details of the big thing from the palace inventory (a type of a throne). In “Beishi” and “Suishu” Chinese chronicles they say that the governors of Bokhan (Ferghana), Khe (Kushania), Unage (Merv), Bosy (Persia) sat upon a gold throne formed as a sheep. The gold throne of Guitsy (Kucha) governor resembled a lion by its form, An (Bukhara)-a camel, Tsao (Usturushan)-a horse and etc.
Thus a superhuman, divine origin of a possessor was accentuated. The Isfara small heads undoubtedly present a deity of the local Ferghana-Sac pantheon fixed both in the written sources and the material culture (in particulars: H.H. Íåãìàòîâ. WHO ARE ARYANS? The Permanent Macrocivilization of Aryana IS 8000 Years Old
This general ancient humanitarian problem of world importance attracted hundreds of prominent scientists privy to the abovementioned branches of knowledge; thousand of intellectual amateurs from all the continents being interested in the phenomena as well. There were written hundreds of serious scientific books, articles and notes, thousands of amateurish publications titled more sensationally; but everyone wishing sincerely to make his/her modest contribution into this super confused scientific theme.
In the course of centuries there formed a series of the hugest scientific problems on localization of "Aryana" land, chronology and stages of formation related to Aryan ethnos, its language and culture, monotheistic religion of Zoroastrism and prior early spiritual polytheism, personality of Zardusht, Ahurmazda's doctrine, creator (Zardusht) or creators of the principal canon of Zoroastrism in "Avesta" and other concomitant compositions; upon the whole, the problem in question encompassed, in general, the Zoroastrian ideology of Aryans pursuing the goal of creation of universal ethnology and civilization of Aryans.

(Interviewed by Connie Hill) Vicki Noble is a professional astrologer and co-creator of the round Motherpeace Tarot Deck , and is author of Motherpeace Playbook and Shakti Woman . Her new work The Double Goddess , looks at the history of early women as leaders, warriors and healers recent archeological evidence and her own intuition.
CH: Hi Vicki. In your new book you talk about Amazons which brings to mind Wonder Woman and Zina. I think of them as fictional. What is the significance of Amazons?
Vicki: In 1996 I heard archeologist, Jeanine Davis Kimball lecture at UC Berkeley. She's the author of Warrior Women . Jeanine participated in archeological digs collaboratively with Russian archeologists near Kazikstan. In her lecture she talked about warrior women and priestesses and that fit right in with my double goddess idea. She described Amazons as having ruled in dual queenship. I was fascinated to hear her use words like priestess because most American archeologists don't use that word, but the Russians do. Since the wall came down Russian and central Asian archeology is available for Westerners to read and participate in. The Russian anthropologists, who have been digging old sites for 50 years actually refer to the burials of these warrior women, priestesses and Amazons. Jeanine's work is well known around the world. She's been invited to participate in excavations in China and Mongolia and has been part of several Nova programs.
