    Target Groups:
    • Geographical target areas include North Carolina, Northern California , metropolitan Washington, DC, and Wisconsin.
    • Two faith-based organizations (FBOs) and two mutual assistance associations (MAAs) managed primarily by and for Americans from Cambodia , Laos, and/or Vietnam ("Southeast Asian Americans") from each of the geographical target areas. Through a competitive process overseen by the national VERB Steering Committee, six new organizations will be chosen to join the project. These organizations will join the ten with which we are currently partnering. In total, there will be 16 sub-awardee organizations during fiscal year 2004.

    • Business Colloquies. USPAACC presents issues of importance, not only to Asian Americans, but also to those who want to do business with Asian Americans and in Asia. Our Colloquies often receive substantial media coverage and have covered such topics as Technology Transfer, Race Relations, Asian Americans, and Political Fund Raising. USPAACC Means Business. USPAACC represents Asian and non-Asian American businesses and professionals. Companies that join USPAACC and become involved in our programs reap profits.     On September 25, 2000, six Asian American organizations - Organization of
    Chinese Americans, Japanese American Citizens League, Asian Law Caucus,
    National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, Chinese for Affirmative
    Action, and National Federation of Filipino American Associations - wrote
    President Clinton and urged him to "establish an independent bi-partisan
    commission to investigate the handling of Dr. Lee's case." These
    organizations specifically cited that "internal reviews are being conducted in both the Justice Department and the FBI and that several Congressional hearings are being convened surrounding the case." Then these six organizations stated: "we believe that the public's confidence in government agencies to conduct fair and competent investigations has been undermined in the past year." Polity funded means a club gets its budget from undergraduate student activity fees, and GSO funded means its budget comes from the graduate student activity fees.
