This review gives an introduction into problems, concepts and techniques when quantizing matter fields near black holes. The first part focusses on quantum fields in general curved space-times. The second part is devoted to a detailed treatment of the Unruh effect in uniformly accelerated frames and the Hawking radiation of black holes. Paricular emphasis is put on the induced energy momentum tensor near black holes

Techniques For Using Brian
Lookup Fields
The idea behind lookup fields is to allow users to save keystrokes and take advantage of the relational nature of the database. Often times, a data field on a window is not new data. It is data that has been already entered in another window. For instance, the song field on the Add/View Performances window will only accept songs titles already data entered in the Songs window. When the user types a song title in that field, Brian will use what is typed in the field to "lookup" the song already entered on the database and get that information. Lookup Fields are identified in windows as the ones that have their identifying label underlined. There are some fields in windows that are lookup fields only when the window is in read mode and some that are lookup fields only when the window is in edit mode. Look for the underline in the lable to know when a field is behaving as a lookup field. A detailed demonstration of Lookup Fields can be found in Appendix A.
Edit Modes
Windows are used for viewing data (read mode) or for adding and changing data (edit mode.) There are two edit modes and each window uses one or the other.

A tremendous amount of tesla coil information , practical building techniques, and other stuff on Tesla in general. A moderated list which discusses tesla coil construction, operation, measurement and use. Example topics include sources of materials, opinions of commercial tesla coil kits, measurement of electrical fields, photography of coils, and construction techniques.

Hello there
Tesla Coil Mailing List
Welcome to the tesla coil mailing list page. From here you can jump to various topics that interest you. This particular page is under construction. However, all the links should be in place at all times. The tesla coil mailing list that I run covers the topics of tesla coil construction, operation, measurement, and use. Topics range from sources of materials, opinions of commercial tesla coil kits, measurement of electical fields, photography of coils, construction techniques, etc. The level of knowledge among the list members ranges from people who hardly know what a tesla coil is, to professional physicists. Topics such as the Tunguska explosion, free energy, anti-gravity, etc. are not discussed. To subscribe to the list, mail to tesla-request@pupman.com with the word subscribe as the body of the message. Occasionally images are posted to an image list. If you can recieve large files, and wish to recieve these images mail to tesla-img-request@pupman.com with the word subscribe as the body of the message. Tesla coil operation involves high energy electrical discharge, high voltages, and often high speed rotary gaps. For the beginner, there are plenty of ways to injure or kill yourself. Safety is an important part of fun, successful tesla coiling. Several list

I would just like to take this oppoutunity to say well done to all my students that have just tested for their next rank. It is still one of the most humbling expierenes for me to see someone test in front of a panel of Black Belts and give it their all to pass a grading. I salute all of you that take time to test yourself in this way. Testing for a coloured bit of cotton, is not what it is about. Its about finding out about yourself, how you function as a person. How you cope with pressure that would normally send you to the floor in a quivering heap. Its about learning how to use your martial arts skills in a pressure situation and still think with a clear and precise mind. Its as much about applying your pyshcological Kenpo as your physical ability to execute it. Respect is always earned, and never just given because of the colour of your belt. Till next month oss Please visit Karate Belt for all your Martial Arts Supplies This site is solely owned by Roy Travert and is the only official "American Kenpo Karate Jersey"

Welcome to IBM Smalltalk Tutorial
Smalltalk is a popular object-oriented programming language. This tutorial covers object-oriented programming (OOP) with IBM Smalltalk. The material covered here is intended for the programmers with no prior experience with Smalltalk. This tutorial does not provide an exhaustive guide to every feature of the language and its libraries. Instead, it is intended to introduce important ideas and techniques needed by the Smalltalk novice. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with general programming terms and concepts, though not necessarily with object-oriented programming. To find out how to use this tutorial click here!
