110. History Of Army Cadets
Provides a timeline detailing the evolution of the RCAC in Canada.
http://www.wincom.net/~59army/history.html
History of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets All cadet corps in Canada have a distinguised history of service to the communities in which they are located. Togerther, these same cadet corps are making history as part of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets (RCAC). The earliest reference to a military unit organized in a school dates from 1861; six years before Confederation! The Militia General Orders of June 3, 1861 authorized a Volunteer Militia Rifle Company, Class B to be called "Trinity College Volunteer Rifle Company". Although this rifle company was more of an Officer Training Coprs than a cadet corps, the beginnings of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets had been laid. On November 28, 1879, the Militia General Order Number 18 authorized the formation of "Associations for Drill in Educational Institutions". These Drill Assoctiations were organized for young men over 14 years of age still enrolled in studies at school. This date is recognized the official founding of the RCAC, as the earlier units were a militia sub-unit for men between the ages of 18 and sixty rather than a cadet corps as we know it today. Eight years later in 1887, the Regulations and Orders for the Militia authorized the loan of rifles and associated equipment to schools which were interested in training students over 12 years of age as long as drill and military training become part of the school schedule. As part of the deal, the school had to find suitable officers and provide a uniform for the students to wear.

But if you dinnae want to use the links below The North Of Scotland Tartan Army is a group of Scottish Football Supporters dedicated to following the Scottish Team both home and abroad. Although the club was only formed in 1997 many members are seasoned travellers and now, at every game Scotland participates in, one of our members will be present, literally flying the NOSTA flag. We have been formed for the sole purpose of following Scotland wherever in the World they play. NOSTA is based in Aberdeen but membership is open to anyone living in the North of Scotland. NOSTA is proud of the Tartan Army's reputation and traditions and it's members undertake, as best they can, to at all times when travelling abroad to behave in the appropriate manner. Which generally consists of wearing a kilt, walking in a drunken stagger and singing songs about English commentators. NOSTA runs free buses for members to all Scotland's home games which are still away in Glasgow. and organises events to help raise funds for the club. Although meetings are arranged from time to time NOSTA is pretty much run on an informal basis because, as every member of the Tartan Army knows chaoticism is in our blood!
