Submitted by: Pinnacle Charter High School , Tempe, AZ Summary Links Full Description Contact ... Advice SUMMARY Pinnacle Charter High School assists students in the transition to post-high school life through a cooperative education program called the World of Work.
Reasons for Practice The World of Work program was implemented to assist Pinnacle Charter High School students in their transition to post-high school endeavors. Pinnacle students who have not been successful in traditional schools are often interested in entering the workplace or community college after graduation. The World of Work allows these students to complete a cooperative education placement rather than enroll in non-workplace elective subjects. Length of Time in Effect The World of Work program was launched in 1996. FULL DESCRIPTION Top of Page THE WORLD OF Work is a cooperative education program that combines classroom theory with supervised work experience. Students have the opportunity to earn high school credit for planned growth in a job that is related to their career goals. A joint agreement is set up between the employer, the school, and the student in order to facilitate this process.
