CDT is designed for librarians and other library staff who are new to collection development or who need to brush up on a particular aspect of collection development. While the aim of this site is to provide practical collection development training that is useful for small and rural public libraries in Arizona, CDT would be of use to anyone working in a small library or information center in any state. This site is not intended for those working in large libraries since many of the collection development processes and examples would not be relevant to their needs. CDT provides training on many aspects of the collection development process. The training information was gathered by interviewing rural public librarians in Arizona, by researching the print literature for articles and books relevant to the collection development needs of smaller public libraries, and by searching the Internet for useful collection development tools and resources. This site provides the following:

Physically Handicapped People In Arizona more than 65,000 visually and physically disabled people are eligible to use free services offered by the Braille and Talking Book Library Division. The Division's services include: loaning braille and recorded books and magazines, as well as the necessary equipment to play the recorded publications.
