Blue Ridge Unified School District (home page located here) is located in Southern Navajo County. The Pinetop-Lakeside community is surrounded by the natural beauty of the White Mountains, the Apache/Sitgreaves National Forest and the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation. The town has a population of approximately 4,000 full time residents but expands to about 30,000 in the summer months. With an elevation of 7,000 feet, the community motto is "Celebrate the Seasons." Temperatures range from the 90's during the summer to the teens during the winter. The winter snowfall and cool summer rains attract visitors from the hotter desert parts of the state. There are many opportunities for outdoor activities such as snow skiing, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and photography. A winter sports complex, Sunrise Ski Resort, located 30 miles east of Pinetop-Lakeside on the White Mountain APache Indian Reservation, attracts skiers from around the southwest as well as internationally with its well developed slopes and facilities. The Pinetop-Lakeside community is truly an outstanding place to work, live and raise a family.
